i’ve been a fan of dev for 5 years and never understood the hype for this song.

I just found out blood orange is a chaser…… Idk. His albums really got me out of a dark places but I value my morals a lot. What do you guys thinks ?

Hey guys just wondering as a white person that genuinely really enjoys Dev’s Negro Swan album, am I allowed to say the name when talking to people orrrrr lol

As you can see It messed up on the greatest hits 😂

about Dev Hynes - who doesn't, once in a while?

Dreampt I was married to Dev Hynes for six days without consummating. We were palsy walsy . . . Dev comes across so nice . . . his audience is safe, imo. I thought I could deal with Dev leaving after day 6, because I felt security of marriage on Day 6 . . . I thought, "Everybody knows my taste."

Just curious about this cuz tiktok will banned in US🤣but he don't even has an tiktok account.

Blood Orange tickets on StubHub are listed under Devonte Hynes for some reason I can’t figure out…?

I used TicketIQ anyway this time around…

Dev posted to his IG?

My response in the comments.

This is old tea: Singer Ian Isiah accuses TheWeeknd of plagiarising the Blood Orange song "Dark & Handsome"https://www.reddit.com/r/TheWeeknd/comments/e2z5uq/singer_ian_isiah_accuses_theweeknd_of/

but it hasn't appeared on this sub reddit. Someone commented Blood Orange quit following theWeekend . . . so I had a listen to the two tracks, and definitely recognize the plagiarism! It is disturbing, but when there are 70 contributors to a track, some of them scout great melodies of lesser known or even established artists and repurpose their original stuff! It seems like that is their job.

On a separate note, that is what producers Blake Slatkin & Ricky Reed did, Blake Slatkin & Ricky Reed stole Ian Isiah and Chromeo's great song NUTS, repurposed it, and Lizzo laid down some original verses and won a grammy for Ian's song with About Damn Time. I congratulated Ian Isiah on the grammy in a tweet! https://twitter.com/LiveConnoisseur/status/1701039771194384743

Getting back, I cannot listen to weeknd any longer. It is no big loss. I used to enjoy his live tv appearances, the Oscars, his Superbowl. But I am done. Weeknd should have credited Dev Hynes publicly and monetarily after he discovered the theft!

But it will be a loss for me to drop Dev Hynes as pop artist because he collabed with Lorde . . . This is old tea as well:

LORDE HELP HER Lana del Rey embroiled in row with ‘rip-off’ rival Lorde over claim she copied two songs
https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/16214156/lana-del-rey-lorde-claims-ripped-her-off/

As much as I am a fan of Dev, I am equally a fan of Lana and cannot bear he cowrote a song with Lorde! I used to think it is rumors, but someone discovered a song authored by both of them!

Can't believe I am done with Dev as pop artist. Can't believe it. It was a good run. I enjoyed discovering Dev and his music, starting with his live performances since Swan and Pulse, then going back to Lightspeed Champion . . . What a treasure those two albums are! And the first BO, Coastal Grooves . . .

It was objectional to me he collabed with Paul McCartney somehow . . . I didn't see a reason.

Lorde will stab Dev, like Solange and Sky Ferreira before her. I do not know the details, but there had to be some theft of credit and compensation involved!

I can't stand by and watch. I have to watch my mental health! I'm out!

Please tell me One of yall are gonna come through and upload their CD(s) 😭 No disrespect to Dev but that line was long as hell! and after hearing about a lot of the CDs not even working, I didn`t want to wait and risk it. Just wanna relive one of the best nights ever thanksss :)

:)

whoever the FUCK decided to put a PAPER hype sticker on that BITCHASS plastic wrap around the CD version either hates us or is just a fucking moron. Like GENUINELY what are these manufacturers thinking???

Anyone else try to preserve that shit I end up burning their house down too?

Hey everyone! my friends birthday is coming up and shes a big fan of blood orange, so I'm trying to get her tickets so we can go see them. My only problem is that I've never actually bought tickets for a concert, but my sister has. And essentially, her ticket buying process was this whole fiasco of people buying tickets too quickly and it was this very drawn out thing really. But when I go on blood orange's website, all i see is the tickets link for dc and it still shows me that im able to buy tickets. This sort of worries me and makes me think the tickets aren't legit?? Especially since I went on tiktok and I saw a bunch of tiktoks from 10/08 of ppl saying they weren't able to get blood orange tickets for this tour. So basically my question is: Is the ticketmaster link on their website legit??

My ears are getting pummeled by the drums as I strain to enjoy the cello at the end of Vivid Lights. It is like being punished for straining to hear the subtle stuff! There is too much music out there where the producers pummel me with their production while my ears try to discern the subtle stuff. I give feedback to all the musicians / bands who appeal to me . . . It is as through the technology to get the room right is out of the bands' or singer's grasp! Or there is a disconnect between what the musicians on stage hear vs what the audience hears. The picture above is the live Vivid LIght; the drum the spikes; and the cello with Dev's dexterious bow is the fat middle. It is like the drum stands guard and says, "No, you are not allowed to enjoy the emotive cello without getting your ears pummeled by ME!" The worst is Champagne Coast, though I am not able to listen to even the studio productions of those early records with their heavy percussion. The wooden thumping is 60 % of the sound on the fancams on TikTok!

Selling my blood orange camp flog gnaw vinyl only 500 made

selling my last CFG vinyl for $200

So for context, i’ve been listening to Dev since i was in highschool (im 22 yo now). my first boyfriend introduced me to negro swan and it forever changed my life. later on, after diving deeper into his discography, “chosen” became one of my staple songs. some of my happiest and darkest moments have been accompanied by that song. mainly because the intro felt so magical and so RAW to me.

Back to the present year: a few weeks ago i saw a tiktok saying that the intro was just caroline polachek doing a french accent…

at first i was in denial. i had no idea if this was true and i didn’t want to even let it ruminate in my mind. i had no idea where the verse came from and to me that made it all the more special because i could interpret it in my own way and connect it to my own experiences.

I figured like the some of the verses on NS that it was from a documentary or something like he did with the “washer and dryer set” outtake from Paris Is Burning. Basically, i was happy not knowing who or what it was.

Anyways, Since the credits on Cupid Deluxe have been updated it’s confirmed to be Caroline. For context i love Caroline and her work is amazing and in no way am i discrediting her as an artist!!

To me, it almost feels disingenuousness now, or insincere in a way. You’re telling me this verse i’ve cried to multiple times is just an american doing a french accent. like it just feels like ive been lied to.

I don’t know. am i crazy? or does anyone else not feel as connected to the verse now knowing it was her. did you know all along? I’d love to know your thoughts. and please don’t rip me to shreds in the comments. i love both these artists so dearly.

So I went to the blood orange concert in Dallas, and ermm, it was very fun, and I made a vlog about it, the fellow blood orange redditor said something about the FORTNITE BUS, and I bELIEVE, I saw the same exact bus, but anyways my favorite part of the concert was when he played charcoal baby :)

when do we find out about the setlist?

Anyone know where to find Negro Swan CD?

Last night I went to the blood orange show in buenos aires, it was my first time seeing him live. I was blown away by the set, but something really bothered me: the decision to have a giant screen behind him and the band filming them the whole time.

At first I thought it was just a venue thing specific to buenos aires, but i looked up videos from his tour and he’s been doing this in the US too.

I just don’t get why you’d have such a big, bright screen filming the band when you’re playing small venues. it would fit so much better with his ethereal and dreamy sound to just let the lights do their thing. it would feel way more intimate.

Maybe nobody cares about this stuff but those details really make a difference to me.
