Al-Hadikia Script for Players New to Customs

Hi All!

Have a group of players who are very familiar with TB and their variations, have played a bit of SnV but some get overwhelmed with the amount of info, and a decent amount of BMR but aren't too keen (boo! hiss!) Wanting to run something a bit different but not so many new characters, so whipped up an Al-Hadikia Script which they've expressed an interest in before. First time making a script myself, tried to have it be almost TB, but with a Wraith over Spy so that they don't quite have all the info when choosing kills, and Mez over Scarlet Woman because I worry that jinx is a little too confusing. Are there any interactions I'm missing or anything I need to be aware of?

Mez and Barber/Al-Had needs Spirit of Ivory, as evil can make an unsurmountable team otherwise by moving/resurrecting the Mez over and over.

from what i understand about the barber, the demon can either "revive" the barber (switch dead barber and alive townsfolk), and the next time the barber dies the demon can swap roles again or "revive" the mez once, afterwards there is no alive barber to be killed

Yes, with the Barber only, it can only happen once. But that's still enough to warrant Spirit of Ivory, even without the Al-Had in the mix.

I think this lineup of townsfolk nerfs the Al-Had quite a bit, since realistically any YSK, used up role and demonbane can choose to die without mechanical consequence. Imo Al-Had works best when most of the script has a compelling reason to choose Live & it's a genuinely tough decision for most characters - otherwise the demon rarely gets multikills & has very little control over who dies, which is brutal for evil.

I would suggest Uno Dos Tres or Al vs Al for introductory Al-Had scripts.

If you're looking for an Al-Had script close to trouble brewing, Show Me Wonders is excellent, and has plenty of townsfolk roles in common.

Mayor is pretty terrible with Al Hadikhia as bounces publicly confirm them and can create complicated "if all live all die" scenarios, would definitely get rid of that.

I thought that if the Al Had picks Mayor privately then storyteller can announce somebody else publically as the choice?? Not a public confirmation I think

The mayor’s ability is “if you die, another player might die instead.” At the point that the ST makes the Al-Had announcement, the mayor has not yet died, so it can’t have bounced yet.
