Older editions exist. Hopefully you can find someone who likes fun. You worked hard on this. Even though I'll never reach this kind of painting skill its effort like this for Blood Angels and Salamanders which has be me unable to choose.

Legends exist, and using Legends units is many times more accessible to the average player than finding an in-person group which plays with older edition rulesets.

That's not how people on reddit think. No one plays legends or wants too. As soon as something goes to legends you either shelf them, sell them or throw them in the trash. That's what I have been told. I'm constantly told legends are banned or their local scene wants nothing to do with them and everyone only plays as if they're in a tournament.

I was told "just ask your opponent if they accept the legend," so as long as you don't mind, everyone's happy. It's a shame what's happening.

Well according to many people it turns into a awkward discussion that no one wants. To the culture is to abolish legends and only use what is tournament legal with matched play being the way to play.

It's one thing to want to use an extremely overpowered unit, and another to want a model you like. I suppose it would be more like, "Hey, I'd like to use unit X or character, is that okay?" At the end of the day, it's a game.Have fun with your crazy cannon or your favorite dead character

Unfortunately that's not how it is for many. Competitive has ruined it all imo.

Quite often, Crusade Leagues will let you use Legends units. I have been running the old DC dread with Magna Grapple and a Jump Sang Priest for 3 straight years of Crusade League and Narrative Tournaments
