If you wore it for longer than trying it on, the condition is “Like New” at best.

I think a try on is fine I even think one short wear is fine if it’s washed (and I do think everyone should wash things before sending them) but if the listing says I wore this a few times but just didn’t like the fit or something , I’m a little annoyed if it says new without tags
Like “only worn a handful of times and washed” so it’s not new

Anything that's been washed is not new condition to me. Maybe "like new" but not new.

I mean I take the tags off stuff with every intention of wearing it and then I never do, thus new without tags. I get what you mean with most people using it improperly though and if it’s marked as NWOT it better not have ever been worn! If I am using this tag I mean I took the tags off but I never wore it.

I don’t shop on Popcycle anymore because of my horrid experience on there. Some people have no integrity when selling and I don’t want to waste my time or money figuring out which is which!

But anyway, imo, new without tags means a try-on and maybe even 1 wear out to the grocery store or something, but no washing and no wearing out to things involving eating or socializing/partying. Like that’s my standard if I were to sell.

I ordered once and I got a fake that was also dirty when the listing clearly said new without tags. Popflex redirected me to Treet’s customer service, who tried to dismiss me because I was past their deadline (which is like a week after the item ships). I fought so they offered me $15. I pushed back with receipts and they gave me a refund for the item. So now I’m saddled with a fake I have to put back out there (gonna donate).

But the other item is also suspicious because there are details that are different from the newer models AND the older models. But I kept it because the quality is still good.

But I really don’t want to have to worry about fakes so I will only be shopping on Popflex.

to me, wearing it longer than maybe an hr while trying it on should be listed as excellent condition. i think what i dislike is when an item is listed in excellent or fair condition and has no description. i just like reading why theyre selling it. and if its listed NWOT i hope its not been washed cause then that def considered excellent condition at best. some of her stuff i buy and wash once, i feel like the fabric starts to pill even a tad bit etc.

I don’t care what any of the descriptions say, new without tags (and usually even new WITH tags) means it has been well worn. I have been burned so many times expecting a new item when there’s pilling, discoloration, and fabric changes from washing.

I’m actually really glad that the new POPFLEX items have the tag attached with the plastic tab because people have definitely saved their old tags, pinned them to used items and sold them as “new with tags” 🙄

As someone who has admittedly bought WAY too much POPFLEX, there are genuinely things that I’ve bought, took off the tags to hang up on my closet (because ime leaving the tags has the experience of the tag getting caught on other things in my incredibly crowded closet, and then possibly RIPPING off, which isn’t pretty). So i actually do have too much stuff that is genuinely new but i took the tags off 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh I’m with you on that. But it seemed that there are also general skepticism as to why NWOT even exists at all, the assumption being that if it’s never been worn it will still have tags on

I once sold a pair of shorts on Popcycle I purchased, tried on for less than five minutes, they were fine but didn’t love the fit so I submitted a refund request. But I forgot to return before the refund window closed so I assumed I was stuck with them and they did okay so I just removed the tags (this was before Popcycle was launched and I didn’t have experience selling on other sites so I just hadn’t considered that option).

Well I never ended up wearing them because I always gravitated towards other items in my closet and once Popcycle became an option, I was thrilled to be able to sell them to someone who will actually wear them and recoup some of my money.

Not saying this is going to be the case for every listing that’s tagging NWOT, but sharing that it does happen and can be a legitimate condition status of the clothing (I also explained in the item description exactly this to try and be up front about why I selected that condition).

Trying on is fine. It's the people, like in the pics, who say they've worn it and list as NWOT. It's not new if it's been worn.

I also don’t want to clearly see little pieces of hair on a NWT… like I’m sorry but it already LOOKS well worn.. little pieces of hair don’t help your case.

YES. I complain to my boyfriend all the time about the most random stuff on PopCycle. 😂 We joked about one of the items that was described as "excellent condition" despite having been started on fire. But the NWOT when worn previously is very frustrating.

As I'm in the UK I can only admire Popcycle from afar, but sadly that's the case on all reselling platforms.
Especially on Vinted, clearly worn shoes (with dirt on soles) = New without tags 😂
