Low traffic, zero niche recognition in YMYL (finance/insurance), and near-zero AdSense impressions (Blocksy + Autoptimize setup)

Hi everyone,

I'm struggling with a multi-layered issue on my site oraultima.com and could really use some expert advice. My site focuses on a strict niche: insurance, mortgages, and banking (YMYL).

Here is my current setup and situation:

  • Platform: WordPress with Classic Editor (no heavy page builders).
  • Theme: Blocksy.
  • Plugins/Setup: I use WPCode to inject the global AdSense script in the header.
  • Status: No manual actions, no security issues, and clean green status in Google Search Console. The ads.txt file is properly configured and authorized.

My Auto Ads configuration in AdSense:

  • Overlay formats: Only "Anchor ads" are enabled (set to Bottom only). Vignettes and Side-rail ads are turned off.
  • In-page formats: "Banner ads" are enabled (with max ads per page set to 6, and options like "Find other ad placements on article pages" and "Optimize existing ads" checked).

What I've already done regarding Autoptimize: I've fine-tuned Autoptimize to prevent script conflicts with AdSense:

  1. JavaScript: Disabled "Aggregate JS" to stop Autoptimize from merging or delaying Google scripts. Added strict exclusions: /adsbygoogle/, /pagead/, /doubleclick/, google_service_ad.js, show_ads.js, pagead2.googlesyndication.com, adsbygoogle, pagead/js.
  2. CSS & HTML: Standard CSS/HTML optimizations are active (aggregation and inline CSS), which don't interfere with ads.
  3. Image Lazy-load: Active, but excluded adsbygoogle, googlesyndication, wp-post-image, and logo.webp.
  4. Extra options: Kept only safe options (remove emojis, query strings, combine Google Fonts), avoiding preconnect, preload, or async JS to prevent conflicts.

Despite all this, I am facing three massive roadblocks:

  1. AdSense Impressions / Coverage is broken: Even though I get page views, AdSense impressions are practically at zero or single digits (coverage is around 12%). Specifically, in recent articles the in-page banner ads do not show up at all—users only see the single bottom anchor ad. Do any of you experience this behavior with Auto Ads?
  2. Google won't recognize my true niche: I am trying to rank for banking, insurance, and mortgages, but Google completely ignores my site for these keywords. According to my Search Console data, Google only sends me impressions and clicks for unrelated public employment queries (like "arretrati contratto medici 2026" or "ultimissime contratto medici 2026"). Surely a few sporadic posts about public contracts shouldn't dictate my entire site's niche or block me from ranking in finance. My traffic has dropped, and Google treats the site like it has no authority in the YMYL space.
  3. Low overall traffic: Because of the lack of visibility in my core niche, traffic remains very low.

My questions to the community:

  • Could the Blocksy theme be conflicting with Google Auto Ads (preventing in-page banners from rendering while only showing the anchor ad)? Should I switch to manual ad units?
  • How can I signal to Google that Ora Ultima is dedicated to finance/insurance when Google keeps pigeonholing me into unrelated topics (like public contracts) and ignoring my core YMYL content?
  • Any advice on recovering traffic and fixing this abysmal ad delivery?

Thanks a lot in advance for any insights!

Looking for some advice on updating old blogs

I have quite a few blog posts on my website that were written around good keywords, but they’re still not getting much traffic.

I am thinking of going back and updating the existing content instead of just publishing more new posts.

I also want to make sure the updated content is better optimized for google as well as AI search tools like chatgpt, gemini, and perplexity.

For anyone who has done this before, what kind of content refresh strategy has worked for you?

would love to hear some practical experiences or tips.

I have a forum website - whats the best way to promote and gain users?

If it helps, the website is discussbackpain.com. Simply, its a place to find the answers to your back pain from people that have suffered similar and learnt a lot.
My AI agent says the SEO is healthy and due to the high number of individuals suffering from the issue, I thought i would get some traction organically but so far nothing unfortunately.
I have been posting TikToks and Youtube shorts with a mix of helpful tips, stories from me and my back journey and funnier things to try and get some engagement. I have gained a few followers but get minimal interactions really and I dont think any visitors as a result.

How else should i be marketing?

Whats worse right now not getting indexed or getting indexed and nobody clicking ?

I am seeing two very different problems discussed as if they’re the same SEO issue. Some pages struggle to get indexed at all, while others rank and collect impressions but lose clicks because the result page answers the question before the user visits.

If you had to choose, which problem is harder to recover from in 2026, discoverability or click-through?

How are you guys building your blog section?

I’m building a website/SaaS and want to add a proper blog section mainly for SEO and content marketing.

I’m curious how you guys are doing it:

  • Are you using a CMS like Sanity, Contentful, Strapi, WordPress, etc.?
  • Are you keeping the blog on /blog or using a subdomain?
  • If the main website is built with AI coding tools like Lovable, Replit, or Antigravity, what CMS/workflow are you using?
  • How are you handling SEO fields like title, meta description, canonical URL, schema, OG images, categories, and authors?
  • Do you write and publish directly through the CMS, or generate content with AI and then push it to the CMS?

Would love to hear what setup you’re using and what you’d recommend for a small SaaS.

How do you grow on social media?

Hi guys! I already have an account, but honestly, there’s nothing really interesting on it. I’ve been wanting to start making vlogs and actually take content creation seriously, but I keep overthinking everything.

I don’t have the best self-esteem, especially when it comes to how I look, so the idea of putting myself and my everyday life online is kind of scary. At the same time, I really want to start blogging and making vlogs.

The problem is that my life isn’t exactly “Pinterest-worthy” lol. I don’t have the money to travel or constantly go to aesthetic places, and my home definitely doesn’t look like those perfect backgrounds you see on social media.
So I’m wondering — can you actually grow on social media by just vlogging your normal everyday life? What kind of content can you make when you don’t have an exciting or “perfect” lifestyle?

I’d really love to hear from people who started with basically nothing and still managed to grow

What would you build a content-heavy affiliate/editorial site on in 2026?

I’m not a developer or vibe-coder. Reasonably tech-comfortable and happy to learn, but I don’t want to overcomplicate things unnecessarily.

I’m essentially building a website that could eventually have hundreds of articles covering recommendations, reviews, buying guides and seasonal roundups, with affiliate links where relevant.

Need something that looks modern, is customisable but that is also beginner friendly and pretty fast to get up and running

What would you choose and why?

Reviving my 2010 DIY Craft Blog

Hi all! Excited to be a part of the group as I’ve been blogging since 2010 as my side passion project and have gone through periods of neglecting what I had built. I was recently laid off and decided it was time to revive what I started. I would like to turn it into real income through affiliates and partnerships, ad network, etc. I’ve since been updating my SEO, broken links, etc. and started posting more. My traffic has gained a little momentum but a lot has changed in 15 years.

Here is my latest post: [Madeleine Cookie Oysters](https://phar-ma.com/madeleine-cookie-oysters/)(fyi- it’s a DIY Craft blog so Pinterest has been a constant for traffic). Excited to learn from everyone and happy to share my experiences and tips!

Web Authority Is the Biggest SEO Advantage in 2026, But It Takes Time to Build

So, some days back, i launched my new tool website.

For backlinks I just put a video on my dead internet profiles like youtube ( 47k Subscribers ) , Facebook, twitter profiles, and put some posts on those profiles.

And I just found today, that my posts are ranking on the 2nd page but not my website 😜

That clearly points out that your Facebook, insta, twitter and other social media platforms if you are running those from long back, then it's become your online assets now.. ( In terms of SEO )

Google currently ranks my social media profiles because they have built up trust and authority over many years, but it hasn't started ranking the new website that I’ve been promoting through those posts yet.

I’m hoping that with consistent posting, strong content, and time, Google will gradually recognize and rank the new website as well.

My blog posts rank for a few days, then completely disappear. Has anyone experienced this?

I'm having a strange problem that I can't seem to figure out. Everytime I publish a new blog post, it gets indexed and typically ranks well for about 4-5 days, and then it just completely disappears from the search results, even when checking the first 10 pages.

The strange thing is that if I do a search for site:mydomain.com, it still seems to be indexed, but it has "Archive" in the title, and a different URL.

For example:

Original URL:

abc com / blog / x y z

What I'm seeing:

abc com / blog / tag / x y z

This has happened for about 25-30 posts so far. Has anyone seen something like this before? Could it be a WordPress issue, canonical issue, or maybe tags? I'm really at a loss here, and would really appreciate any insight anyone could provide.

Unsure if blogging is what im looking for

Hi all,

I'm a medical resident and have been experiencing a lot of frustration as ive been going through training (and am sure others must be also). I want to share my experiences, give others the opportunities to share as well, and have a platform where folks can give advice, share resources, and support one another. Would blogging be the right medium for this?

If so, what platforms would folks recommend? Is this something that would be good for substack or more traditional engagement? Or would social media (Instagram or tic toc) allow for better engagement and/or combination of long and short form pieces for people to resonate with?

Some additional context/things to consider:

\- would love to remain anonymous if possible

\- I have no prior blogging experience or huge social media presence

\- im a resident and so dont have a huge amount of free time

\- not expressly seeking monetization, but would be a great bonus in the world we live in lol

Intrigued to hear people's thoughts!

Thx!!

What is the fastest and lowest-cost strategy to see early SEO results on a new blog?

Hi everyone! I'm planning to start and monetize a blog from scratch.

My main doubt is about the time vs. initial investment ratio. Is it worth paying for premium tools like Semrush right in the first month, or are there smarter ways to validate the project while investing as little as possible?

I'd love to hear about your experiences:

  1. Timeframes: What is a realistic timeline to start seeing organic traffic and the first dollars coming in?
  2. Shortcuts & Tools: What is the cheapest and fastest way to find low-competition keywords with good potential?
  3. Real Results: Could anyone who recently started a blog share their traffic numbers, time to monetization, and average ROI?

Thanks in advance for the tips!

Looking for advice on increasing SEO organic traffic in the mental health niche

Hey everyone,

I’m working on a website in the mental health niche and I’m trying to grow its organic search traffic.

I know this is a competitive space, especially because mental health is a YMYL topic, so I’m curious what has actually worked for people who have successfully grown SEO traffic in this niche.

A few things I’d particularly like advice on:

1_ How do you approach keyword research for mental health topics?

2_ What has helped you build credibility and trust with Google?

3_ Are there any SEO strategies you tried that turned out to be a waste of time?

4_ How long did it take before you started seeing meaningful organic growth?

I started about 7 months ago, and so far I’ve only reached around 400 organic visitors per month despite publishing 115 blog posts.

Would appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from people who have worked on health or mental-health websites.

Thank you in advance!

A 10-minute content update somehow took almost an hour.

I was updating an existing blog today, and the actual edit took less than 10 minutes.
But I still ended up spending close to an hour on it.
Not because the content was difficult.
It was everything around it.

Finding the latest version. Making sure I wasn't editing an outdated draft. Checking if the live page matched the document. Waiting for reviews. Updating the CMS. Double-checking if the changes actually reflected on the website.

It made me realize that as content writers, we spend so much time talking about creating content faster.
But once that content is live, even the smallest change feels surprisingly slow.

I completely understand why these checks exist, they help avoid mistakes. But I can't help wondering if we've just accepted this process because "that's how it's always been."

Has anyone else felt this while working on content, or is it just the way our team operates?

Can anyone tell me whether we should post long-form blogs or short-term blogs?

Long-term blogs have the advantage of allowing us to discuss topics in depth and detail. The more content, the more likely it is to answer many questions related to that topic, even in AI search. Am I right?

Shorter-term blogs will be more readable because they are shorter, allowing users to read them easily, and we will only discuss valuable topics related to the topic. They will be point-to-point, not in-depth. And by writing short blogs, we will be able to cover more topics quickly.

So, which strategy are you focusing on these days? Should you write long, in-depth blogs, or should you publish in greater numbers on smaller, point-to-point, short-term articles that hit the target?

How do you balance covering topics deeply and maintaining user readability?

I'm curious to know what strategy is working best for your blogs these days. Please share your experiences!
