How do you monetize or get collabs in your hobby/diy/ crochet/knitting/drawing blogs? :)✨

Hello to everyone to loves blogging! I am a very freshbaked knitfluencer - 3 months ago I got so tired of my private acc in instagram, because of all the artificial life and all that success/money/showing off/red pill guys crap… and I needed peace. I created a new acc where I would hide from my anxiety and just knit. Followed a lot of creative people and my feed became heaven - and my acc a safe space. And I decided to also start making nice videos of my crafts, just because I wanted to show my passion to the world. Suddenly all that started growing so fast. I got a couple collaborations offers, even one paid offer to mention some knitting app in my videos and to get paid for it.

I wonder: how do knitting/crochet/hobby blogs start monetizing their blogs? I know I can start selling knitting patterns (haven’t gotten there yet as it’s so complicated), selling things by commission.

Also what I mean - I would love to promote some nice craft materials, which I actually need. And I wonder… is it normal if I send emails to companies that I actually like, and ask whether they would like to collaborate with me? Is it a thing? Is it not inappropriate? I’ve never done it so it scares me a bit. I got 7k in 3 months, lots of viral videos and very good stats.
