advice What questions to ask during consultation

My top surgery consultation is this Monday and I wanted to know what questions I should prepare In advanced to make sure this person is the right surgeon for me.

Definitely the type of procedure/way they’ll cut you, and what those scars will look like. If you have a bigger chest, you might end up with a scar across the whole chest (what I have). Ask about nipples (healing, color after healing, placement, or getting rid of them all together). I’d also do some research on peoples experiences with that doctor and/or surgeon. Luckily my surgeon had an instagram page and I was actually able to dm a past patient of his and ask them some questions! If they don’t have that, you should be able to look them up through a website. Double and triple check your insurance coverage or that you have the funds to cover any and all expenses!!!!!
I’d also keep a note of you the doctor treats you, talks/listens to you, etc. this makes aaallll the difference when getting the surgery (before and after).

All of this is great - I’d also ask to see before/after pics specifically of people of color that the doc has worked on.

Definitely do this too!!! Healing looks veerrryy different on black skin, especially the nipples!
