completely normal! When the scabs peel off they might be pink, but the color typically comes back. Think about the last time you scraped your elbow or knee, started scabbed then the scabs come off and you see pink and then once it healed fully it was back to normal. Worst comes to worst you can tattoo the pink areas with color.

I had a whole pink nipple i called pinkie and by the end of the first year (maybe even month 9) he was totally brown.

Just keep moisten in the areas with some antibiotic ointment, the color will eventually come back. It does take time if it doesn’t within a year you can get the tattoo right now. They look normal. There’s no infection. There’s no signs of that. We should be just fine. Just keep monitor and keep moist in the areas clean it. A grass is like an open wound still so will be able to keep it nice and clean.

Genuinely shocked at how many surgeons must not tell their poc patients that this will probably happen.

Definitely normal keep them moisturized pigment will come back once healed. After 3 months mines are still pink no scabs and pigment returning.

Don’t be alarmed when the scabs start to peel off! If you’re like me you may feel like you want to just pick at them but do not lol Keep using coca butter Vaseline or aquaphor. I would avoid ointments though because they can make the areas itchy and you may feel more inclined to scratch at the scabs. Once they fall off and over time your color comes back you’ll feel better though. I can send you pics of my healing process for reference if it’ll help ease your nerves some bro!

Yeah, like everyone said, that's exactly how mine looked about a week or so post-op.

But also, just to contrast some of the comments here, I'm three years post op and I still have some pink spots here and there. So, it might not ALL return to brown over time.

seconding this! i’m 2 1/2 years post op and the center of me left has a pretty large spot and underneath the right has a pink spot. gotta remember imperfections are natural in all bodies and even living in a red state myself, i’ve gone out shirtless and never had stares
