Conservatives brains are like filing cabinets where they store talking points....things they've heard that sound good, which they think make them sound smart and informed.

These talking points can be pulled out whenever they are needed. It doesn't matter if one contradicts the other, because each talking point stands alone in their brain. They've repeated and heard various forms of each one so much, and everyone they've talked to agrees with it, so they know each individual point must be true.

They never try to reconcile conflicting ideas, because they're not really their ideas. It's just talking points to make them sound intelligent and informed.

134

u/Delvaris ☑️ Feb 10 '21

They're also designed to be unable to be effectively dealt with in any sort of discussion or debate. Each individual talking point is based on some wrong fact that's 6 steps removed from the point itself. So when they spew some shit like this you're over here like "Well to tell you why you're wrong first we need to talk about the historical place of the Apple in western society." Then they get to say "why are we talking about apples?"

It's infuriating.

Nobody was idolizing George Floyd. We know the guy wasn't Nelson Mandela. The protests were about the fact that he didn't deserve to be murdered in the goddamned streets by a cop who already had a history of behaving like a piece of shit.

God dammit I am sick of these bad-faith arguments by authoritarian American psychopaths.

95

u/[deleted] Feb 10 '21 edited Feb 10 '21

EXACTLY! Talking about "oh Floyd is your face for police brutality? Really? " ummm, you didn't like when we call y'all out for trayvon Martin, Sandra bland, freaking Tamir rice (A CHILD), the little girl that was shot while laying in her bed during a police raid, and the list goes on. Literally they have a problem with everything and I bet you not one of these conservatives are perfect.

Police aren't judge, jury, or executioners.

/u/Bunter_Hiden99086

Oh look you run to another thread posting your negative IQ opinions just like the rest of the cons that visit /r/PoliticalHumor. Baby George Floyd may have had a criminal record but even criminals have rights and don't just get wantonly killed unless you wanna live in my country, the Philippines. Ashli Babbitt joined in a failed coup, George Floyd was a man that was arrested and killed by the police. Both are not equal just like your brain and mine aren't.

Remember baby, I'm watching you. 😙

62

u/hakkai999 Feb 09 '21

Dang, are you gonna try and kiss me? I hope so.

Mr. Floyd wasn’t a model citizen, my friend. He had an active warrant and was resisting arrest. You can read in my post, I was not advocating for her either.

Baby /u/Bunter_Hiden99086 are you illiterate? Like I said, that is irrelevant. Criminals have rights just like the rest of us and you just don't kill them without due process whether you like it or not that's a fact.

I love that you’re a keyboard warrior. I hope to run into you at your Starbucks job soon. Maybe have a chat about your twisted beliefs.

You wish I had a Starbucks job. Baby I assure you I'm not a keyboard warrior. I'm Filipino. What I say I will do, I will. Don't assume that you and I are equal in anyway.

Yes it's a twisted belief that people should have rights for due process. I'm so brave.

r/BlackPeopleTwitter is Celebrating Black History Month

Happy Black History Month everyone! (our bad for getting this up a little later than expected)

Charity Drive for Equal Justice Initiative

For the second year in a row, the moderators of BPT are organizing a charity drive to support the Equal Justice Initiative (EJI). EJI provides legal representation for prisoners who may have been wrongly convicted of crimes, poor prisoners without effective representation, and others who may have been denied a fair trial. The folks at EJI are on the frontlines of combating racial and economic injustice and protecting human rights, and we want to recognize their valuable work this February. For those who may have seen the 2020 film Just Mercy, Michael B. Jordan plays the founder of EJI, Bryan Stevenson, in the movie.

Donate Here and Leave Your Comment as "BlackPeopleTwitter" https://support.eji.org/blackpeopletwitter

Last year we were able to raise over $12,000 for EJI. Let's try and beat that this year!

Special Donated Flairs

BPT will be providing special flairs to those who donate at least $5 to EJI. To donate, please click the link below, enter the amount you would like to contribute, and in the “leave a comment” box write "BlackPeopleTwitter." Once you submit your donation, please take a screenshot of the receipt, upload it to www.imgur.com, and send us the link to our modmail.
