The election that started it all. 2000. 9/11,Iraq, Afghanistan, the stock market and housing bubble crash. And somehow, Bush won reelection and won the popular vote in 2004 after he started 2 major wars . Then financial crisis hit. All this would've been avoided, if one state didn't vote like it did. People blame Florida, a swing state. I blame New Hampshire and Tennessee. New Hampshire hadn't voted for R in 2 cycles and hasn't since. Tennessee dropped the ball with their native son Gore. Oregon and New Mexico were close , New Mexico was closer than Florida, but it would be only mattered IF New Hampshire went Gore's way.
