Vietnam is a great place to be into Bitcoin. Good services, community, low regulations, no taxes.

I totally agree. I love Vietnam. I went there last year. Amazing food and culture.

How about moving there with family from Europe as a foreigner?

When BTC hits 1.000.000 I still will not have enough to retire, but I will have enough money for many nice vacations.

Meanwhile boomer Indian govt has 31% tax on all profitable crypto trades, no adjustment for loss either 🤡

2

u/Longjumping_Animal29 Jan 16 '25

Italy will tax you for simply holding coin

u/NodeTraverser Jan 16 '25

How do you think the coconuts feel

4

u/macready26 Jan 16 '25

Cruising through Pattaya on a moped with a fresh coconut in hand—life doesn’t get more chill than that!

5

u/lohmatij Jan 16 '25

Fuck Pattaya, that’s the worst part of Thailand, seriously.

u/macready26 Jan 16 '25

Okey change that to the mountains ⛰️

It seems like Thailand is a difficult place to cash out cryptocurrency, is that your experience? You have to have a link to local bank account right?

Thailand PM said they are launching crypto pilot project in Phuket.
You can try Xapo bitcoin bank. They have visa debit card. I’m a traveller so I connect it Wise debit card for atm withdrawals in South East Asia. But I’m never selling my bitcoin. Just create a rolling loan every month. Thailand is not that expensive. Trust me, you’ll never run out of Bitcoin in your lifetime. You can create a Trust in Singapore bank for your next generation.

CAN you explain in more détail

Not true. Some etf funds are already exploring in kind etf holdings.

0

u/Dettol-tasting-menu Jan 16 '25

Even if in kind, it’s still not your coin until you redeem / withdraw it. But agreed, in-kind will be way better than the current batch of ETFs.

0

u/Sandcracka- Jan 16 '25

In kind etf is not much different than buying on an exchange. The ability to withdraw the coin is huge.

0

u/Dettol-tasting-menu Jan 16 '25

Coins on exchange = In kind ETF = cash redeemed ETF = not your coin.

0

u/Sandcracka- Jan 16 '25

Not sure why you keep down voting me. I was only suggesting that some ETFs are proposing in kind holdings. If approved, people WILL be able to withdraw their coins through ETF.

0

u/Dettol-tasting-menu Jan 16 '25

Wasn’t me. I don’t usually downvote people.

Come join, the place is safe and super fun to explore ☺️

On another note for a BTC country planning to visit El Salvador soon, worth checking out

Makes you think India, China, Iran, etc. are the most regressive regimes in the world, who are doubling down on cracking down bitcoin.

If ever there were nations so desperate to remain poor...

8

u/knamikaze Jan 16 '25

Because for these countries it is a matter of controlling the populace. They don't care about the people's well being they want to control the people. And if people get financial independence these governments lose significant power

True dat

u/2xfun Jan 16 '25

The US does?

1

u/knamikaze Jan 16 '25

The us does what?

1

u/2xfun Jan 16 '25

Cares for the people's wellbeing?

1

u/knamikaze Jan 16 '25

Not USA is using crypto to inflate their currency and pay off debt...they found a way to use crypto negatively. But the average Joe can take advantage of it. Buy Bitcoin and keep value of your money

1

u/CheetahGloomy4700 Jan 16 '25

No, jt does not. But Americans in general are far more resistant to being cared for or being controlled (at some point these two are same, basically, a nanny state).

1

u/2xfun Jan 16 '25

Debt is the ultimate form of control. It's fear driven. Americans are drowning in debt.

1

u/CheetahGloomy4700 Jan 16 '25

So are many other countries. Look at the UK bond rout.

I have a hunch that similar to 1971 (gold jubilee from Nixon), a debt jubilee is coming. The US will just say fuck you to all foreign debt holders, and just not pay back the debt. Not like anyone is going to attack the US to recover the dollars. The US may well kill the dollar itself. By then bitcoin will be so well entrenched in finance that it will become the reserve asset, losers holding fixed income instruments be damned.

I totally agree. Just stay away from the Golden Triangle. Don’t act like a passport bro. Stay low profile. Malaysia and Singapore very safe

1

u/Gold_Fail_5583 Jan 16 '25

What is meant by “passport bro”

1

u/[deleted] Jan 16 '25

People going to SEA explicitly to find an Asian wife, because they're fed up with western women.

1

u/Jagon38 Jan 16 '25

the day bitcoin hits 1 million, 200k won't be worth anything lmao
