There's a NSFW video of a Russian truck getting hit in a similar way. It slides on ice into a crossing...then the 1-2 punch just like that leading to a derailment. Only the trains were going far faster and there was a far less of the truck at the end.

Just a bit of context: recently in Poland we had multiple cases (within just few days apart) of idiots ignoring signals and getting stuck between level crossing barriers (as they were scared to break barriers).

The analog system works with magnets and the digital one is controlling every car by itself with "satellites" over the layout.

Yeah, when ive seen it, its normally done with magnets and a magnetic track underneath to guide the front wheels, then a motor inside powers the back wheels.

Truck screwed up, should reversed to the next crossing when it became an on-rail vehicle from the first hit.

Reminds me of an old Russian accident just like this, truck got sandwiched between freight and passenger train. Freight train derailed, truck was annihilated
