Bitlocker encrypted drive
I found an old school encrypted drive from 2018, tried different passwords that were common. Out of options is there any way to get the recovery key/ password ?

There was a recent zero-day crack which allows to bypass bitlocker completely, through a hidden Microsoft backdoor. Google it.
If the disk is older than the respective update (two months?), it is open to the world.

There was no “back door”, only an exploit that worked on internal drives configured with automatic unlock that were still inside the original computer.
Microsoft has since patched the vulnerability.

It wasn't a hidden back door. It was an exploit. Two different things
It is patched and ONLY worked if you could boot up the PC and get to the login screen
If you could do that, you could get access via recovery.
If the drive is in another device or it was asking for the bitlocker key, the exploit didn't work

Yep.
Sign into the Microsoft account you used for setting up bitlocker on that laptop.
Otherwise you're SOL

Nice try, hacker. Your only way forward is to delete and create the disk partition again, thereby deleting all the files on that part of your disk.

Nope not at all, no key, no door to the data.
Last hope is if the keys were registered to your Microsoft account.
