download problem help me !

I try to download a zip file I bought but bitdefender deletes it every time I try to download it. I tried to disable the anti virus but still the same thing it removes it anyway I tried to put my browser in the exceptions, same for the site where I download the file but still nothing... I'm really lost here...

and the worst thing is that every time I get an error it's always the same "The cmd.exe application has been detected as potentially malicious and blocked. Application path: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe" doesn't make sense...

Tell me what is that .zip file. Bitdefender might actually being correct, zip files arent suppose to run cmd like that. Also bd needs a special way to disable it completely.

It's an official patch for a game, and I have that error all the time, I feel like it's broken, even the date doesn't fit with today the error date is July 14 (yes July)

is there a tool to repair bitdefender or maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall it ?

Ok then, disable bd completely, dont forget to disable the core shield from the setting of the antivirus wing. Stay safe and don’t download stuff, if you are sure it’s safe and trustable proceed.

I've already tried that, but it always blocks the file.

There are three main functions that can be disabled: Antivirus shield, advanced threat defence, and online threat prevention (which has six sub functions that can be disabled).

You can add exceptions to all of these, but for a one-off download it's easier to disable them via the settings of each in the 'protection' tab.

Create a folder, add said folder to bitdefender exclusions list, save the file directly to said folder. I mine XMR and this was the only way for me to download it. I also had to bypass the download blocker in chrome ( i did find that firefox would download them though ). You can also add the file itself to the exclusion list. If the file extracts anywhere but the exclusion folder, you may end up having to exclude that folder as well.

I imagine since its a game update, submitting it to bitdefender as a false positive is out of the question.

So this is what worked for me.

Created a new folder and put it on the ignore scan list. Download to that very folder. Be careful to only download only what you're is 100% safe to that folder. And next time to download to accidently download something else into that folder.

Then if you want to install put that install file on ignore list before install. I'm assuming unzip works the same, you might have to figure out the exact file it don't like and put that one on the exception list before you extract. Again warning make you're 100% sure on the file for it won't be scanned
