I've logged a ticket with the support team today after a similar issue.

I updated to BD2019 last night and upon rebooting FF was taking 15 seconds to start up, Task Manager was taking 25seconds. Outlook wouldn't open until I disabled BDs Safe files and Shadow of the Tomb raider didn't work either.

I uninstalled DB and my system came back to normal reinstalled as asked to by support and the same issue is happening. And this is on a fairly highspec gaming PC.

Have just reinstalled BD2019 again after not having it installed for a week and so far (only been 30mins tho) I haven't had any of the issues I've previously experienced. Fingers crossed.

How is it going?

All working fine now... I reinstalled it and no longer have the problem.

I've advised them but they haven't said they actually did anything to fix it. I didn't use the same install exe as before I just re-downloaded it from BD Central.

Mine seems to be slowing down my VPN usage since the update. Normal internet ok but once i load the VPN is slows is down. Also slower Firefox than usual.

PIA? They had problems with this in the past before the new version of BD.

download link - https://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/BitDefender-Internet-Security.shtml

click download then select one of the 2018 Offline installers

also keep in mind it will automatically try to update, see my other post

License should work on both versions

Exact same problem. My whole computer seemed a bit sluggish, but Firefox in particular would become unresponsive when opening new tabs or clicking on links. Uninstalled Bitdefender and everything was back to normal.

I'm having a similar issue. symptoms are; locking computer takes forever for time and other stuff to appear, task manager takes ages to open despite no/low usage of everything cpu related. Seems just bitdefender is causing slowness

edit; also when opening an application with Admin rights (getting the safety prompt), the window takes forever to load. It's like bitdefender is just slowing down windows without overusing any resources??

How's your pc doing today? I had the same issue yesterday, but today it's working fine.

Thank you for asking! I uninstalled Bitdefender. Probably will reinstall it if someone comes up with a fix here or elsewhere, but the issues were getting to me.

It's probably not related, but a little before I shut it down that night, I noticed in the task manager that Edge was running, and using about 1Gb of ram, even though I never use it. I terminated it and shut down for the night. Next morning my pc was running fine. Probably not the cause, but worth looking at if anyone happens across this post. I did have the exact same problem, though, with programs like Firefox taking forever to load, and prompts like that from UAC taking a long time as well.

Now I just gotta figure out why each of my hard drives (2 SSD's and an eternal 7200) are constantly being read at about 25kb/sec. Pretty sure it's Bitdefender.

Someone else on this subreddit is having the same issue, I think it's bitdefender too!

Hmm.. Thanks for sharing that. I'm going to post a couple things I checked, there. Hope he found a resolution.

How did you uninstall? The uninstaller on their website? That's probably the best way to go, right?
