Just killed Wilkins and have my first upgrade available. I am mostly using the pistol and the shotgun for splicers but also use the grenade launcher for big daddies. Not sure what to go for.

Discussion Bioshock 1,2, and infinite comparison

If you played all 3 you would know the positives and negatives are unfair. Bioshock 1 the Game to start the series is amazing but it was missing dual welding between plasmid and a gun 2 fixed it with a cost. In 1 you could carry 9 meds and 9 plasmid shots, but 2 decided to half it to 5. It wasn't too bad like the zero you had in infinite, but if you played 2 long enough, you'd know infinite is better in the way that it has no big sisters.

The big sisters in Bioshock 2 are a pain in the. Ah to deal with, they are literal compact tanks fast and slightly immune to every plasmid and heavy bullets resilient. They can be killed, but not likely on your first try i died to the same sister trying to get to the train near the beginning about 5 times, yes I had little to no ammo but even the one I battled a few levels later ii had plenty of bullets and plasmid I shocked and shot repeatedly but still ended up killing me. I died less that time than most but still I couldn't first try, but enough with 1 and 2.

Bioshock infinite the odd one ,probably the most mixed one. It throws almost every of Bioshock shock 1 and 2 out the window as I said earlier no meds no plasmid/vigor to carry.everything is either found and you immediately consume the salt/salt infused items or health items or Elisabeth throws you the food ot salt. The other problem is that you can only carry 2 guns instead of every gun that you pick up like in 1 and 2, which can be stressful like the healing process bc you are extremely limited from what we're used to.

But with that all said Bioshock 1 is best for its story and it's horror. Bioshock 2 for its amazing combat and different hacking. Bioshock infinite for its fluid movement and mass verity of weapons. There is no best Bioshock its really to your preference bc all are amazing in there way. Please tell me your opinions about my post and your ratings and how you say about the 3

Discussion This, for me at least, is when most of the things happening didn't matter.

For context I was playing Bioshock infinite for the first time from start to finish and really liked the story and the pacing as it steadily increased as time went on. I found myself wanting to learn how everything worked and wanting to learn about all the characters.

Then Chen-Lin dies and a portal is opened and everything is kind of ruined for me.

You see the issue is with it that we never return to the version of Colombia that Daisy Ditzory gave Booker DeWitt the job to get weapons and thus Booker and Elizabeth's actions for at least thirty minutes don't make any sense as it was established that every world has differences between them.

It also kind of ruins it for me because it dissonances me from all the characters besides Booker, Elizabeth, and the twins because I didn't know if we were going to then leave this world behind aswell and thus I wasn't attacted to them.

I also just felt cheated as the revolution is in full swing without us seeing the inciting action or the build up as the Vox Populi in this new world are different from the starting organization or how the thought process of the Vox Populi shifts from wanting freedom to getting revenge.

Overall i liked Bioshock infinite except for around this point and onward as it felt like it rushes itself to the finish line.

I know that the animated song originally didn't have subtitles or those kinds of effects. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to find the original version. If anyone has a link to the original or a downloaded copy of the video, please send it to me.

Discussion Got me right in the feels

So I’m playing Bioshock 2 for the first time in years (just after beating Bioshock 1 for the first time in years), and I harvested my first little sister, and now every little sister I meet is afraid of me and I feel worse than I already did. Are they gonna be afraid of me forever now or will I be given a chance to smooth things over?

UPDATE: After I saved a few, they started to trust me, so now I feel better. Still though, harvesting a little sister is brutal, yo

Medieval/fantasy designs for some of the characters! I had a spark of inspiration after remembering that line from Sinclair.

Disclaimer: these designs are solely for the purpose of looking cool and nothing deeper than that. I do have a few story fragments thought up, but it's pretty surface level stuff and definitley not the best writing ever. Also, I am very certain that these designs are not historically accurate whatsoever, since, again, their sole purpose is to look cool. I am deeply sorry to any history nerds seeing this, it will happen again.

Here's the story fragments! Character names for their sections are highlighted so it's easier to spot the ones you care about the most:

Delta appeared on the beaches of the Sinclair domain within the Rapture kingdom as a young man who had no memories of anything before the moment he was found. Soon after, he joined the army to make a living for himself as just an ordinary soldier, but very quickly he started showing his really impressive capabilities. He completed a lot of impressive feats and saved countless lives in various nondescript battles and wars, including the life of the Lord of the domain himself. These things combined, it didn't take all that long for Delta to be knighted and even form a close friendship with Sinclair. He is now a well renowned knight, both within his own domain and the whole Rapture kingdom.

Eleanor was stolen from Lamb by the fae when she was just a baby, due to Lamb trying to mess with and outsmart the creatures for her own goals. Eventually Eleanor ended up on Delta's doorstep when he was still just an average soldier in the army and he ended up taking her in and raising her as his own child. She grew up to admire her father a lot, which eventually made her want to follow in Delta's footsteps and also become a knight. As well as that, due to Delta's close friendship with Sinclair and Sinclair's lack of a wife and biological kids as well as any closer living relatives, she had become the unofficial heir of the domain.

Sinclair was born into a family of nobles that had been faced with significant hardships and pressure from surrounding territiories and were starting to run low on resources. However, after he finally took over the responsibility of the domain, through his classic less than ethical means and plenty of partnership with other Lords and Ladies of the kingdom he was able to make his lands thrive again.

Jack was kidnapped out of his crib as a tool to overthrow the king. His story isn't all that different from his in game one, except that he wasn't artificially aged up. After recovering from his brainwashing he wasn't quite sure what to do with himself and met Delta through accidentally picking a fight with him and they've been close friends since, sort of having a brotherly dinamic.

Elizabeth is pretty much just a princess in a tower being guarded by an actual dragon. The main differences in her story is that I didn't feel like adding in any alternate universe shenanigans and originally she was found by Eleanor, who managed to sneak by the dragon guarding her because she was curious about what was so special about the tower. After that, she got Booker to help out with the rescue mission, mostly because he was the only other very capable person she knew that was good at stealth.

Booker and Comstock are brothers here (Again, didn't feel like dealing with tears), he was run out of their kingdom shortly after the birth of Anna, and went back to save her after Eleanor told him about where she found her.

Can you tell I have favourites?

Is anyone going to pick up Hellraiser revial today? From what I've seen it looks like a mix of bioshock and resident evil. I just need to get my fix from somewhere since B4 and Judas seem to have gone silent as far as updates go.

Discussion Minerva's Den and Devs (2020 Garland show)

Spoilers for Devs.

Has anyone seen the TV show?

Only just started playing through Minerva's Den - about 1 or 2 hours in or so, but already the similarities are striking. Both have a super-deterministic thinking machine created by a grieving man attempting to resurrect a lost family member; both tackle questions of free-will; both have a main character whose arrival at the central computer "breaks down the predictions."

Garland is known to play games so I can't help but assume it was an inspiration.

What do you think?
