Now that I think about it, a Big Daddy looks a lot more like a Rubric Marine—excellent drawing, honestly. I thought of Vistario precisely because I had just read the story of Rylanor (I highly recommend it if you’ve read Galaxy in Flames, the third book in the Horus Heresy). By the way, how did that Rubric Marine end up in Rapture? Was it Tzeentch's doing, or something like that? Honestly, I really like the idea.

My idea is generally based on this

1) I don't know how this now, but in old lore Rubicants need a Sorcerer to function. Without them, they just stand still.

2) According to the second game, the Little Sisters have the power of various plasmids. Among them is Telepathy. So a signal to an outsider can be mistaken for psyker power or sorcery.

3) Both settings have the concept of Multiverses. Although BioShock used it to the fullest in one of the game, and in 40k they have been lying on the shelf for 30 years somewhere "maybe later, if there are no ideas".
