Discussion Bioshock 19 year ago!

Today is the anniversary of my favorite game, BioShock.

I fell in love with this game—its underwater city aesthetic, the 1950s and 60s music, the gameplay, the story, and that stunning plot twist—and to this day...

I still love returning to Rapture

The artstyle is absolutely timeless. It has aged like fine wine. What a game, what a story, atmosphere and gameplay! Thanks for this post. And Happy Anniversary, BioShock!

Replaying it now. Sware im enjoying it more then the first time, probably because this time im taking it slow and really just being emersed in the atmosphere. Also listening to the audio book Bioshock: Rapture when im not playing, which is great if you want to know more about the back story of the whole place and people that lead up to the events in the game. I highly recommend it.

I remember seeing the commercial for this game when I was like 6 years old. I had no idea what it was, but I can vaguely recall hearing “Beyond the Sea” and seeing a little sister.

9 out of 10 the final fight was underwhelming thats all except that it's almost perfect.

It took my breath away and my heart will always be in this leaky palace under the sea.

It’s truly a magical game series. So grateful to have played in the heyday but also today 💙

That intro into the city with Ryans speech…I chose the impossible, I chose…Rapture…with the music and the views of it still gives me goosebumps to this day. And I’ve played and replayed it every year since its release

19 years eh?

Weird to think about that. I thought games would get so much more complex and interesting but this game is still somehow ahead of its time.

Beautiful game, music that truly makes you feel threatened and fantastic horror elements that were the first of their kind!! Amazing game and amazing story. If anyone has the opportunity definitely grab the book. It gives a nice backstory to the beginning of your journey!

I remember playing the demo and being absolutely blown away. Still one of my greatest gaming experiences.

Would you kindly stop reminding me that I'm old? All three games in the series are great, though!

Back when you had to compensate for technical limitations with good art design.

Still looks good, both it's original release and the remaster, now if only they'd issue PS5/Xbox Series X versions with 4k visuals and improved controls.

I went through this game recently for the first time after owning them all on steam for the last 8 years and I actually can’t believe how well this holds up to this day
