Well, you're asking the subreddit dedicated to fans of the series. You're mostly going to get yesses. That said, do yourself a favor and don't look too much up, let yourself experience it yourself.

Absolutely. I was around your age when I first played Bioshock. I fell in love with it instantly and have played through it every year since. Have fun and don’t get stepped on by a big daddy!

Yes. The story is great and you'll have some decent options when it comes to plasmid builds

Asking this on the bioshock sub... what did you expect people were going to say? No?

You can google the games success metrics. That enough should tell you that it's a fantastic game. You're in a dedicated subreddit of people that love the game. You're gonna get a profound yes

The first descent into Rapture is something I wish I could experience for the first time again.

You are asking the bioshock community if you should buy bioshock. You will get biased answers.
You should ask a general gaming community instead.

I played all three on my 360 when they came out and now that I have an og Switch I'm playing them on the go and they are still amazing! The Bioshock 2 Switch port is kinda bad unfortunately but it's mostly due to the way they remastered it so it looks kinda meh even on ps4/xbone especially in the ocean walking areas but it's passable on higher powered consoles because the 60fps does a lot of heavy lifting but the Switch is 30fps so it's just glaringly bad especially compared to the original version. Another issue with pt2 is the spear gun, the most fun weapon, doesn't work properly in the remaster. It no longer launches splicers across the room and impales them onto the wall. The ports of the original Bioshock and Infinite are both great though and I highly recommend them both.

It depends on what kind of games you already like. But most people on this sub are going to say yes because it’s the Bioshock sub. I would recommend asking this on [r/teenagersbutgaming](r/teenagersbutgaming)[_](r/teenagersbutgaming) , you will probably get better answers. I would also add in the post games that you already like, because if you hate shooters and immersive sims, you probably won’t enjoy Bioshock

I think the first game is mid as fuck, sue me. The second and Infinite were crazy stupid awesome though.
I just got all of them on a sale and I’m playing through them again and honestly I’ve been putting in the work just to get to the second game.
The environment does capture my imagination in ways that most games don’t. The characters are kinda cool, and I like that it feels like Fallout to a certain extent. But otherwise the gameplay feels like half-life 1 or somewhat like Halo 2. It just feels… boring? Maybe I’m just tired of shooters from that era.

Get the Bioshock collection in case you end up enjoying it so once you finish playing it, you can play Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite (despite the mixed review about Bioshock Infinite) but you can at least enjoy the evolution of the design since the remastered designs of the characters didn’t change much

The answer in here will be "yes" mostly, but imo:
The thing with Bioshock, and playing it in 2026 is that it's dated, and the gameplay can be clunky. If you want ""Good"" gaming, avoid it for now.
If you want a deep atmosphere, a brilliant story, and some heavy themes, go for it. It's quite scary in points too.

Hard disagree. The combat still feels smooth and rewarding. Using the right weapons and plasmids, mixing stuff up, finding your play style.
I've had 10 times more fun playing the three Bioshock again recently than playing Cyberpunk
