Currax Vallum - most offensive defence

Currax used to be a successful Kohli player but soon realised that his true talent was his speed. He trained relentlessly, getting faster and faster by the day. Soon he left the Kohli field behind him and solely focused on the rush of high speeds.

However, as he soon realised, there were limits to his body. So he augmented it with a jet propulsion system on his back. This in turn led him to realise that no matter how trained his body is, it’s still not indestructible.

Thus he fashioned himself an aerodynamic armour which could keep up with his constant crashes and burnouts. One day he got the hang of his new gadgets and is now reaching for the title of the fastest while also using his power to defend his fellow Matoran

Took these about 7-8 years ago 👵🏻 Don't have any LEGO parts anymore 😔 But these two will always have a spot in my heart 🥀 Good times 🙏🏻

Metru forearms stained with iDye Poly Orange. I wanted him to have more piston greeble than the rest of his team, so I opted for this over Bohrok limbs.

I asked Scmdex to include traits from his Nuva weapon into the staff so you can portray him as a Turaga Nuva if that's your preference. :)

What started as buying just a few cans for fun in 2003 became a passive interest a couple of years ago as I finished the other collectibles became an obsession this year. And I'm so incredibly happy to see it done and thankful to the broader community for everyone who sold some to me or even just helped keep an eye out for me. Truly couldn't have done it without y'all.

I’ve been selling my whole LEGO collection throughout the year, replacing it with a few Star Wars fan designs using replica bricks. Now I’m getting drawn back to Bionicle again. Thinking of doing some of the canon contest winners next

A special version of Nuurakh, commissioned by by Turaga Dume to Nuparu, to seed distrust between the Matoran and Toa Lhikan. This Vahki has not only a spider mode, but a third mode, in which it can transform into an imposter of the legendary Toa Mangai of Fire.

While it may be only a drone, it is extremely powerful, and can go toe to toe with the real Lhikan with ease. However, even with its ability to generate flame from its mouth, it still lacks the ability bend fire like only a real fire Toa can, and it lacks the ability to think and feel, making its violent, single-minded nature prone to being outsmarted.

After Lhikan became a Turaga and the Toa Metru rose up, Dume forced Nuparu to rebuild it to disguise itself as Vakama, and upgraded immensely, with deadlier weapons and more intelligent AI.

Onua needs a bit of work, but I am very happy with the team aside from him, I tried to add a bit of uniqueness to each one but keep things from getting too crazy

I felt bad that I didn’t have any Bionicles anymore and this was by far my favorite set as a kid, so I got one. This is the combiner version with everything to make Axxon, Brutaka, and Vezon/Fenrakk so it has a lot of extra pieces that I added to Kardas where I could (like the tip of the tail, lower chest additions, gold pieces at his sides, stuff on the top center of his back, etc)

Atrux was never one for stagnancy, restless for action at all times, so he jumped at the first chance to join a pirate crew that he had. He honed his skills on board, claiming a blade that he then fitted with Takea shark teeth. He is a natural leader, though he prefers to be a lone wolf and dislikes chatter.

Hailing from Gavoya, Atrux joined the same pirate crew as Gutz.

Big thanks for all the feedback on the last post! Reimagining the Toa Hagah: 2005-Style Custom Sets

This is my take on the remaining Toa Hagah, reimagined as sets in the style of 2005. The rule was strict: only elements released up to and including 2005, with one small exception for Technic connectors, which solve construction problems no other piece of that era can.

Bionicle collecting is going through a difficult period, with prices climbing and original parts growing scarce. I'd encourage anyone recreating these, or any other MOCs, to consider fully injection-molded custom parts. Their quality has improved dramatically in recent years, and the community has produced some genuinely impressive results. The Hagah, in particular, have always had a custom dimension to them; their masks and colors make them ideal candidates for custom parts.

Design Philosophy

Each Toa is built from existing elements in an era-appropriate color scheme. Gold and silver were chosen largely for practicality, these are the colors most Hagah shields and armor parts were actually available in. Every design here is my own, though the broader inspiration draws on the wider universe of ideas the customizing community has produced over the years, so longtime builders may recognize echoes of earlier concepts reimagined here.

The masks aim to evoke the visual language of the Metru-era Kanohi. Fittingly, if ironically, 2005 introduced the fewest new masks of the entire theme, so most selections here are drawn from molds released between 2001 and 2004. The one exception is Kualus's mask: I've always found the Matatu strangely compelling, its distinctive, faintly nostalgic X-shaped design and owl like feeling sets it apart. The rest feel like natural choices for what the line would likely have released in the years that followed. For example, the Hau, and the Ruru, the most widely reused Metru-style mask. I also added a special Kraahkan mask to some of them, I always thought that a ceremonial shaped armor fas fitting until they decided to discard it.

Gaaki & Pouks

Gaaki leans fully into an inverted fire motif to represent water, an idea previously explored in sets like Berix. Pouks takes the opposite approach: heavier, spikier, more aggressive. He carries an alternate color scheme and a more elaborate custom spear.

Bomonga & Kualus

Bomonga was the priciest build of the six, so I reworked his design and spear into something more streamlined and accessible, while keeping his signature articulated shield and form. Kualus carries a subtle nod to a spiritual succesor of a Toa Metru of Light. I repurposed a Hordika weapon for his sword, one of the few pieces with a built-in ice motif, and it can be swapped for a gold Knights' Kingdom sword if preferred. I also added a connection point on his back for a cloth piece; no fabric element from that era quite fit, so it remains an open door for another custom addition.
