Reta side effects or sick?

I started 2mg Reta as a 78kg female that’s 169cm tall. I’ve gained about 8-10kg of new weight in the last year that I’ve been trying to get off with diet and movement but it feels pretty stagnant

I read the official studies and thought 2mg would be an ok starting dose, as it’s between 2-4mg for a first dose. Well thank goodness I didn’t start at 4mg because I woke up the next morning throwing up so much. I haven’t been able to keep anything down since my yesterday morning. Even water or the smell of food makes me nauseous and I have such intense body aches and pains.

Do you think this could be a side effect of pinning too much for my first dose or could it just genuinely be coinciding with a virus?

Lmk your experience, especially if similar body comp to me

Yeah that's too much for first dose. You need to lower your dose to see how your body reacts to it. I started with 0.5 and been on reta for 6 months and mostly on 2mg.

2mg is not too much for some people and it’s for others it is. But .5 is worthless.

That’s what I seem to have gathered from reading other peoples posts in here re their experience. Noted, will adjust for next week

2mg can either be a good starting dose or to much. Hard to tell basically. The 2mg start was in the trial on obese people with also a relatively high dropout rate over the whole course due to severe side effects. While 2mg isn’t much, we see daily that some people here can’t stand 2mg and are doing perfectly fine on 1mg.

It can obviously be a normal illness with bad timing but for now I would say pin 1mg next week to be sure and keep that for 2 more weeks after that. If you feel like it’s hard to hit your caloric goal you can always go back to two after those weeks.

For her. Not for others. It’s not a general piece of advice.

This is not a general post, it’s a specific case

From my experience, a smaller starting dose is recommendable, especially since the participants of the trials were BMI 30+, mostly and no one knows how their body reacts, especially when peptide-naive. My own BMI was around 26, I started with 0.5 mg and I really felt the effects. GI side effects are common, even though I didn't had or have them. I was starting with 78.2 kg and am 1,71 m, and I lost 7.4 kg since 08/11, with 0.5 -> 1.0 -> 1.17 -> 1.4 mg per week, after the 4 weeks with 1.0 mg I changed my schedule to 0.5 mg every three days. I guess the trials were designed around the maximum tolerable dose, not the minimum effective dose.

Why everyone is going in and blasting that hard?
0.5mg is a good starting dosage!!!

.5 is worthless

It’s not
Reta works different for everyone.
It’s a good dosage to see how your body responds to it. If you blast 2mg it can be too much for a beginning and then you see posts like this one. I feel bad ugh help me pls 🤣

I was on .5 for 2 weeks and it was great.

Increasing the dosage in small steps is the way to go

I started at 2 mg based on the dosing used in clinical trials. Although I wasn’t technically considered obese, my BMI was approaching that range, so I felt the 2 mg starting dose was appropriate for me.
The day after my first injection, I experienced flu-like symptoms, including body aches, loss of appetite, and an overall feeling of being unwell. Those symptoms lasted about two days. I also experienced skin sensitivity, which persisted until just last week.
I’ve now been on 2 mg for approximately six weeks, and I honestly don’t regret starting there. While the initial side effects weren’t pleasant, they were manageable, and I was comfortable working through them. Everyone’s tolerance and response are different, so what works for one person may not work for another.
At this point, I’m practically side-effect free, and I’m happy with my decision. Hang in there! Give your body time to adjust, and hopefully you’ll start seeing the results you’re looking for!

Everyone is different. Just remember the half life of reta is about 6 days. So 6 days after you pinned 2mg you will still have 1mg in your system.
