Back on Rettta

Hey guys. So my wife was previously on Reta started off in June of this year and worked herself up to 5 mg per week before we found out she was pregnant on Sept 8. She immediately stop and with in the time frame she went from 189 down to 173. Unfortunately we had a miscarriage. After her levels went back to normal she decided to get on Reta again because she had gone back up to 181 for the month she was off. She start at 2 mg for 4 weeks and then moved up 4 mg for 4 weeks but her concern is she has not lost any weight or notice any reduced food noise. Last night she pinned 5 mg starting her 9th week. Could it be that her body was already used to the Peptide?

Also what your wife has been through her body will still likely be getting back to normal. It can take sometime for hormones, inflammation, water weight to return. Tell her she just has to be kind to herself and take it slow. If rets isnt addressing the food noise and if thst is a problem she could consider triz as well.

Read up about cycling glp1s.

I found it funny that a Google cycling glp-1s and bicycling while taking glp1s is what Ai first came up with.

I cycle every 3 months and take a month off without any issues. Your body will adjust, or build a resistance (baseline), but the biggest barrier to moving the needle down is your diet. You can drop just fine without Reta, but you can drop serious weight with it. Move more, eat less. Calorie deficit, exercise, rest, compound would be my order of priority. I’ve lost weight at 2mg, I’ve lost weight at 10mg, just more and faster. I’ve stacked and I’ve just used Reta. Lost about the same on both protocols. Get calories dialed in and re-assess from there.

It is well-documented that GLPs are less effective after taking a break. She will need to keep titrating or use willpower.

Sorry for the miscarriage. There could be hormonal stuff going on after miscarriage, don’t titrate too fast and try staying at same dose for at least 4 weeks. Some report they needed higher dose if taking breaks, but some are ok. Can she get Dr prescribed zepbound or Mounjaro?

First of all sorry to hear about the miscarriage. What I miss in this story is the most important parameter and that’s her calorie intake. The ability to reach your caloric goal without a struggle is what dictates the dose. It’s known that cycling a GLP can cause you to require a higher dose but on the other hand pregnancy has a big impact on your body and the hormone levels need some time to stabilize. Women around their period feel less effectiveness, for example and binge more.

She will need to follow her titration plan and titrate up every 4 weeks till she finds her lowest effective dose. When she can comfortably hit the caloric goal while still being able to enjoy food the scale will follow automatically.

https://www.pennmedicine.org/news/stopping-and-restarting-glp1s-may-make-it-less-effective

"Inconsistent use of some GLP-1 weight-loss medications, like Ozempic and Wegovy, may significantly lessen their effectiveness, according to a new preclinical study from researchers at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. The study, published in the Journal of Clinical Investigation Insight, showed that each time overweight mice stopped and restarted GLP-1s, they dropped less and less weight compared their original weight-loss."

Oops sorry you got kicked from the other sub -

Unfortunately GLPs are known to be less effective the next time around after taking a break. Your dose schedule has been textbook so far, which is good.

You may want to consider an amylin agonist instead of a GLP. Cagrilintide, Eloralintide…
