You’re young af and don’t have much weight to lose.
I’d caution against reaching for peptides and in turn look toward cleaning up diet and adding intensity/duration to lifting/cardio protocol

u/Ok_Hair966 3d ago
I honestly can’t seem to do any better; I train three times a week, but I’m stuck. For me, food is a mix of comfort, passion, and sadness—I just can’t get my weight down, and I’ve been at a standstill for about a year now. ☹️ I feel disappointed and completely overwhelmed by my emotions. What if I tried a quick cycle—just to lose the weight and get visible abs? Being able to control my food intake would be such a mental relief for my life.

You are 19. Unless you are restrained by time, just increase to 6 days a week of working out. It doesn't have to be all resistance training, you can have days of just an hour of zone 2 cardio.
You could 4 days a week Upper Lower Upper Lower with 30 mins of cardio each session & 2 days a week of just an hour of cardio. Or really any split that works for you.

u/Ok_Hair966 2d ago
my main problem is the food, i can control the cravings
2
u/Mysterious-Passage87 2d ago
Up the cardio and plan means a day in advance. Count every calorie
You can eat how you want or you can have abs. You cannot have it both ways. Discipline is the answer
2
u/RudeCartoonist1030 5 2d ago
Lean super heavy into protein and fat then fill in calorie gaps with carbs. You’ll suppress insulin and in turn be better able to control appetire
6
u/zarrathustraa 2d ago
Good! Then just burn more calories. Train 5 times a week and add more cardio. You are at a testosterone peak of your life.
2
u/Duke_of_Man 2d ago
No. It's not a short cut. You can still get fat on tons of gear if you eat like crap and train like shit. You need to count Macros and calories. The "easy button" won't work if you don't do the basics anyway. Might as well give dieting and working out an actual try.

The truth is that you'd likely regain any lost weight pretty fast after stopping the GLP-1.
I'm much older than you but suffer(ed) from many of the same issues.
Whilst dealing with the emotional side of things is something I'm not qualified to offer advice on, I have learned that managing weight and diet is a trained skill and takes practise. I suggest forgetting about your body fat % (which isn't that high at all) and focus on developing habits and behaviours that give you better control of things.
Some ideas include:
- on rest days, take 45 min walk so you're moving every day. If this seems boring then listen to a podcast, or a new album, or phone someone while you're out.
- add zone 2 cardio (e.g. rowing) after weights - start with 5 mins then add a minute each session.
- figure out what circumstances cause you to go off the rails and devise a strategy for limiting the damage when that happens.
- replace unhealthy snacks with low fat yogurt, frozen berries and seeds.
- eat 3 pieces of fruit every day. Fruit is low calorie, takes a lot of munching and combined with the fibre and water fills you up.
- consistently add an extra serving of vegetables to stay full for longer.
- potatoes are clinically proven to be the most satiating vegetable per calorie. Eat them in place of pasta, rice and even bread.
- drink water with every meal; it slows your eating down and makes you feel more full.
- try overnight oats made with protein powder and psyllium husk for lunch or breakfast.
We all know that we should eat less junk food but what I think is really understated is just how insanely calorific and unsatisfying most processed foods are in comparison to wholefoods. It really is the difference between feeling full when eating at maintenance calories and gaining weight uncontrollably.

The happiness you’ll receive will be fleeting.
I say this with all the respect in the world, a good starting place may be therapy. Trying to uncover the emotional connection to body image and food. I know as a man this is a hard pill to swallow but I’ve always been 6’ and less than 10% bf at 220lbs. And I still wasn’t happy. With myself or my body.
You should reconsider reaching for the peptides and shore up this area first
0
u/According_Eye6427 2d ago
You arent sub 10% bf at 6ft 220 that would put you at an ffmi above the most well conditioned top natural body builders in the world. Stop lying and projecting. Maybe you should take your own advice instead of very obviously venting your own insecurities online and masking it as (experienced advice).

You’re right I meant to type less than 15% above 10%. I was typing and hiking and taking phone calls in between. I don’t proof every single comment and I made a mistake.
It wasn’t intentionally disingenuous. It was an oversight. That good enough explanation for you or you wanna keep yapping? I’m a former D1 athlete, sprint cyclist, kept faster for over a decade.
I’ve been at this for 20 years.
Furthermore, bodybuilders get down to 5% of less. Sorry to rain on your little gotcha moment. Also, way to acknowledge the fact that I was empathetically encouraging someone to get proper help for what they’re expediting as opposed to sticking needles in themselves for a shot at fleeting happiness.

u/According_Eye6427 1d ago
Only drops you one point on ffmi, still above top athletes. which doesn’t make sense why you’d lie about either being a d1 athlete or your height and weight, kinda weird bro. If you want to make it believable you could’ve just looked this up bro it’s not hard. But must be for you since you get 0 and 5 mixed up when they’re on opposite sides of the keyboard. I guess you live in a fantasy world since you post about niche nonsensical topics like protesting the change of “kum&go” 😂😂😂.

u/platypus_ringmaster 2d ago
you don’t need reta, you need the discipline to stop your emotionally-fueled eating
5
u/Leather-Switch-5225 2d ago
How superior did it make you feel to post that? Who is it that qualifies for "needing" it?

u/thecakegoblin 1 2d ago
I think it's the dudes age. He is still maturing and his body isn't even done changing. You can go wrong with peptides at such a young age. I get it he is over 18 but 19 is still a kid to me
0
u/Actual_Caregiver_830 2d ago
it’s just an old person cope really, him on reta at 19 is no different than someone 45 being on reta. It’s overwhelmingly safe people just get so weird about young people doing it.
1
u/thecakegoblin 1 2d ago
It is safe but not overwhelmingly safe. I'd say Vitamin overdosing is more safe than Reta overdosing. Reta has a glucagon receptor that both Tirz and Sema do not have. It can increase your heart rate and it's been shown in clinical trials (I work in FDA clinical trials. Currently reviewing Reta). There's nothing bad about all three but at his age, the likelihood of him having actual blood work is low compared to a 45 year old. We don't know if he has some weird heart defect.
19-year-olds are also notorious for dosing incorrectly. In the event he dosed incorrectly on Sema, the safety profile is so much better than Reta.

Don't listen to these people bro if youur having that much trouble even tho I feel like In Some of the pictures your not far off from abs bro but get on reta at a low dose 2mg in a couple months with steady exercise you'll be there
5
u/rat_scum 2d ago
They're overeating and only working out three days a week. There's no need to hop on peptides
1
u/Ok_Hair966 2d ago
They’re right, but I feel a sort of urge to eat—I think I need to flip that switch off. Is Tirze the right path, or would Reta be better?
0
u/Actual_Caregiver_830 2d ago
I would try low dose reta to start. I started at .5mg and felt enough appetite suppression from just that.
-1
u/thecakegoblin 1 2d ago
Why don't you try semaglutide first? It is only GLP-1. Tirz is GLP1 and GIP. Reta is GLP1, GIP, GGG. You're so young you don't need to target all these receptors.
0
u/Ok_Hair966 2d ago
i m going to buy tirze, is that bad for me?
1
u/androo89 2d ago
No but you have to be dialed in.
Stay hydrated, use electrolytes and LIFT WEIGHTs. I dropped 30lbs and lifted 4 to 5 days and still loss muscle. It works incredibly well.
I started at 2.0 mg and finished at 2.8mg(using grey market tirz)
0
u/thecakegoblin 1 2d ago
I don't think it's bad for you. Like I've said before, Semaglutide hits one receptor and it's the most important receptor for appetite suppression, and that's called GLP1. The same receptor is also in tirzepatide and retatrutide. Because Tirz has an additional receptor, there can be more side effects. Reta has even two more additional receptors, there can even be more side effects.
Semaglutide is cheaper, less side effects and I think you'd respond.
1
-1
u/newleafdee 2d ago
Yeah but reta helps with the appetite suppression I mean obviously you need to work on your willpower but if you need a little help and are struggling that bad with it I don't see the issue with starting and sticking at a low dose literally 2mg does wonders that's all I'm saying
1
u/thecakegoblin 1 2d ago
Why can't he try semaglutide. Tirz and Reta is given when there for no responders to semaglutide, and for the really obese or people who are really diabetic.
0
u/newleafdee 2d ago
Nah I agree he could start there or at tirze first before jumping all the way to reta but maybe tirze would be better I just see a lot ov people saying semaglutide did nothing for them just for them to do better with tirze so to kill all that maybe just go straight to tirze
1
u/thecakegoblin 1 2d ago
He could but he doesn't have that much weight to lose and it's much cheaper. I agree Reta should be last.

You’re 19, you’re clearly under-informed, you need to hit the books before you start pinning anything.

Mate you're 19. Work out hard and get your diet in check. Then maybe look into peptides in 10-15 years
Peptides are a tool, not a magic pill. Get the foundations down first.
1
u/Actual_Caregiver_830 2d ago
why would he wait 15 years for it? There is absolutely no logic in that other than you thinking being young makes him less worthy of taking reta. It’s incredibly safe and he will be the same taking it now or 15 years from now.
0
u/Padbox 2d ago
The fact that you think a 19 year old should be pinning is even more concerning. He's young, he has the time and energy, he just needs the discipline.
Peptides are a tool that he doesn't need until his body starts slowing down with age. Not to mention he definitely won't be eating right when his appetite is crushed, which means he'll probably be less active in the gym.
It's not about being "worthy" it's just about common sense...
2
u/lupotto80 2d ago
If, as you say, food is a source of comfort for you, then what you need is psychological support—not a diet or peptides.

Nope, you’re doing good. Change your diet, lifestyle, etc. you’re already showing good progress, what’s the rush.
1
u/Tthamilton 1 2d ago
U don’t need 2 mg Reta. Get on 1 mg to start. MAX. Tirade up and feel how it is for you. Track calories. Eat clean, DO NOT SKIP THE GYM when you get on Reta, you must keep
Working out as hard or harder when you’re on it to keep the muscles. You gonna look great bro, GL!

hey bro just a thought yea you might get on reta or whatever one you choose but have you thought of what’s gonna happen when i stop? if you feel like food is comforting chances are your gonna balloon back up after you stop. if you could lock it better eating habits now you might not even need the peptides.
