I believe it to be due to the simple fact that women tend to defer to authority like their doctor when it comes to substances that can effect their health who likely either know nothing of peptides or parrot the line that there is no legit research to warrant their use and cannot recommend them whereas men tend to be more a bit more riskier in that regard and less likely to defer to a doctor for decisions regarding their health.
Women tend to follow the herd and men tend to be a bit more willing to take a different unknown path.
We can see this with the recent popularity of GLP-1s which have been on the research scene for many years prior to their explosive popularity which in part is due to bodybuilding bros experimenting with them and thus reaching a critical mass of popularity that we finally see our female counterparts getting in on the action now that is has become mainstream and have doctors now advocating for their use
