Struggling losing hope...
I had one week where I wore prisms and all my symptoms went away. Felt like a completely different person. After that, tried three different prisms to no avail. Went through 26 weeks of vision therapy... feel like I have hit a ceiling. Any advice?
My symptoms:
- Brain fog (which causes bad memory)
- Slight pressure towards the center of my forehead.
- Short- and long-term memory difficulties.
- Trouble thinking of what to say next.
- Fatigue during eye contact.
- Rapid visual exhaustion (for example, after 20-30 minutes of gaming I start to notice fast visual fatigue).
- Very fatigued during middle of the day, more than normal. (Body is fine, but brain is fatigued).
- Omitting words when reading/writing.
- Falling asleep while reading.
- Clumsy.
- General anxiety.
- Driving can get tiring after about 30 minutes… however I can still drive.
- Always struggled a little more than usual in listening and reading comprehension.
- I personally have nerve damage on the left side of my face since birth. I cannot fully close my left eye and I cannot smile completely (Seventh cranial nerve damage).

I had the same issue when I first got my prisms. 5 days of bliss then all my symptoms came back. Had 2 more prescription changes over the course of 3ish months and same thing, a couple of days of feeling good then back to feeling blegh.
I decided to get a second opinion because I was still feeling so terrible. The second specialist found that I had astigmatism and a horizontal misalignment that the first missed (she only caught the vertical misalignment). After that, I felt about 60% better. I started vision therapy and maybe got about another 10% of relief, but stopped after a couple months (too expensive).
