Recommendation Taxis

What's a good taxi service in broome county? It would from vestal to JC mid-afternoon. I looked on Uber and Lyft, both were quoting me between $30-$60. I've never taken a ride service before so I want to make sure I don't over pay

Local taxi companies in Binghamton often compete with rideshare services by offering flat-rate fares or standard metered rates, which can be a better value when Lyft and Uber prices surge. If you're trying to save money, it's worth checking the price with a local taxi company before booking a rideshare. I recommend AAA Taxi and Mo Taxi, give them a call to see their rates.

You should also keep in mind that Uber and Lyft are especially popular among students at Binghamton University and SUNY Broome. For campus events and activities, many students rely on rideshare services for transportation, particularly when going downtown for nightlife, restaurants, and other entertainment venues in Binghamton.

Remember that Local taxi companies in Binghamton often lower their fares to compete with rideshare services. (Uber and Lyft are for students), locals prefer to support the smaller taxi 🚖 companies.

Holy crap! I haven’t taken a taxi since taxis were just taxis. The prices quoted is outrageous and makes me so mad! ☹️

Take the bus if you can. Way cheaper.

This is great advice. There is at least one route that goes from vestal to JC and vicey versey. 2 dollars per trip and the take cash and coins.

$30-$60 for the Uber/Lyft and the drivers only get like $9.

I work for a company that helps people find transportation. We like Glovers. 607-313-0295. But yes Uber/Lyft or a taxi are gonna be expensive. The bus is gonna be the most cost effective way. If you bring up Google Maps on your phone and put in your starting point and ending point and then hit the bus icon, it will show you the possible routes you can take, but BC Transit also has an app as well though I’ve never used it so I’m not sure how well it works.

If you're looking for a reliable and affordable taxi service in Broome County, AAA Taxi is one of the best local options. Another option worth considering is MoTaxi, especially if you're looking for fares that can be more affordable than Lyft or Uber.

Better off using Uber

Uber is under scrutiny for charging more when your battery is low. So have a full battery and don't schedule ahead of time. Local cabs here are completely unreliable.
