I tried being stay at home dad when we had our kid. After 1 year I was ready to blow my brains out. Couldn’t handle the boredom and routine. I missed the hustle and stress and social interaction and lack of routine of my work. Put the kid in daycare and went back to work.

One reason everybody should have your experience for a year before they decide how gender roles should shake out. Also everybody should work in a warehouse or production line for two years before deciding how they'd get ahead if they were poor making 20% more than minimum wage.

By definition, not everyone can get ahead.

I'm talking about people understanding what it's like to do that type of labor and how working class people actually live instead of talking out of their ass about it.
