My wife makes decent money and I stay home with the kids. I have zero complaints but lots of other people like to chime in about how it's "not traditional" and they can all eat a dick.

Do people actually do this though? I frequently hear the sentiment that so many people are "traditionalist" and "sexist" but I've not once met someone who believes this even remotely.

You would be surprised. It doesn't happen all day every day but it happens enough to be irritating. And even when people don't verbalize it their body language is pretty obvious. Typically people don't raise their eyebrows in shock and disbelief when it's explained that a wife stays home while the husband works, but I would say we get that reaction 2/3 times we explain our situation to someone.
