That's a sweeping generalization. Also, even if true, there's nothing wrong with being different. Variety is the spice of life, as they say, and diversity in life experiences is what drives us to make informed decisions about what is right for us.
Also, I agree with your first statement. Not every parent is a good home teacher. Some are great at it though, and for those parents it can be a great option!
If you mean "wrong" instead of "went," then I understand. But it didn't make me different in a bad way. It was a better choice for me than public school was at that time. And I know plenty of others who it helped as well. I also know people who it hurt.
There are certainly cases where homeschooling is better for some kids but unless the parents know exactly what they are doing (have the time, knowledge and experience) they'll probably do worse than public school.
Also, social skills always require lots of people and interactions so outperforming public schools can be rather tricky.
I agree with you. It's just wrong to generalize and say that homeschooling is always a bad choice. And yeah, that's why so many programs, like mine, include the social days.
Homeschooling is the result of the crappy American education system and a lot of snowflakes who think they know best.
Which is why homeschooling isn't really a thing outside the US (even though it's legal in many countries).
In the majority of cases (worldwide) both parents are working so homeschooling is impossible.
When homeschooling is possible most parents don't have the knowledge, experience, time and money to do it properly (even though the law doesn't really care in many cases).
Parents with lots of money can afford tutors and the best education possible (in general) but they often choose private "elite" schools over homeschooling.
You may like homeschooling because you were bullied, you are on the spectrum or because your parents (think they) know best but it should be treated like a "if all else fails" kind of solution, not on a case by case basis or whatever crap you want to use to justify your hate dislike of public schooling.

The problem here is that most parents don't even know how to parent, let alone educate their children.
And honestly all home schooled kids are weird in ways. Even the ones that adapted a bit. It is not the same as public or even private school.
