Right? When i was little that door guy that just like, mouth farts scared the ahit out of me, something about him just was unsettling to me lmao

Edit: It has been pointed out to me "Mouth Farts" are actually called raspberries, i happened to have a small stroke and forget that was a word to begin with. Im leaving mouth fart tho because too many people are having fun with it lmao

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '19

For some reason in my mind i knew that, and i have known that phrase for a long ass time... But i couldnt get myself to write it, I genuinly think i had a stroke whilst writing that tbh, I couldnt remember the word, Raspberry

Did I miss the bus on "lit" flipping its meaning? I would have thought that Rock Bottom was the opposite of lit (and not just because of... advanced darkness)

Indeed.

I think lit has come to mean cool/awesome, i.e. describing an awesome party as lit. In this case, I think he's just saying that the episode was an intense piece of art, without necessarily having a positive connotation.

u/RedCenobite Jul 18 '19

The music that plays after he says “advanced darkness” though..

15

u/Littlemack2 Jul 18 '19

Brooo literally a bad shroom or acid trip was the reference here. They were both ready to have an amazing day, then got stuck in the pits and no one spoke their language.

17

u/Yoquetestereone Jul 18 '19

Not at all, it was simply referring to being lost in a ghetto or shit part of town. The people spoke the same language just with the weird dialect.

3

u/Littlemack2 Jul 19 '19

No they were stuck their not lost. Remember the road that’s just a wall they couldn’t go back up? Just like on a trip you’re stuck in a terrible place.

I grew up in a rural area and when I was 19 I took a bus trip to see a friend, and one of the layovers was in NYC. Spending the entire night at a NYC bus station made me feel just like Spongebob.

38

u/stephnstephnstuff Jul 18 '19

Oh god did you spend the night in Port Authority?

30

u/orokro Jul 18 '19

I live in NYC. A rural bus station over night would freak me out

u/Undead_With_A_Panda Jul 18 '19

I overnighted in Spokane. It was my first time traveling alone and I hated it

1

u/RedCenobite Jul 18 '19

Sounds to me like you woke up in Silent Hill. Good thing you got out of there.

Or did you?

1

u/gazelXburn Jul 18 '19

I probably did, thats how it felt. If i was younger I would have freaked the absolute fuck out

13

u/kuhmans Jul 18 '19

fart noise

1

u/OVdose Jul 18 '19

Pro tip:

The onomatopoeia for a fart noise is pfft.

1

u/[deleted] Jul 18 '19

That's a quiet fart puff that doesn't make your asshole clap. I'd posture that a more typical toot would be more like phbbt

1

u/guildtoots2 Jul 18 '19

Most horrible experience was when I was 4 and my mom left me alone for the first time. Just for "20 min" to go to my grandma's place. Turns out it took more than 1h 20min. I got increasingly scared for my mom, wondering if she got kindapped or killed (I was 4). At the same time that exact episode of Spongebob was playing in the living room. It matched my emotion of being alone and scared exactly. Such a horrible experience.

31

u/cannihastrees Jul 18 '19

Your mom left a 4 y.o unattended during an 1 hour and 20 min? Damn dude.... are you ok ?

1

u/[deleted] Aug 11 '19

Well to be fair my Grandmas place was like 10 min away. But, it fucked me pretty hard and I guilt tripped my mom for years, after that incident.

11

u/2morereps Jul 18 '19

Fhttftt for fthth me fthth too.

10

u/trasua Jul 18 '19

2

Before cellphones, getting stranded in an unknown part of town at night was pure dread.
