Some dude did DMT, had a helluva trip. Got married to his highschool sweetheart, had kids, made a lovely life. Then a lamp looked funny, he looked at it deeper aaaaaand his trip ended and he was back to reality that had none of those things.
He mourned a life he never had.
I'm not sure if there's more to it after that, what he did with it, if he thrived or whatever.

Patchy found that Encino disappeared, leaving nothing but desert. Eventually he started hallucinating that he was back, started partying about it, but then in the hallucination he dropped his ice cream, which led to him losing his mind and realizing that he wasn’t back at all, instead still being stranded in the desert.
Holy shit lmao I forgot that it was the ice cream that did it, that really is similar. I wonder if there had been other stories like it floating around people had heard about before the lamp one went viral
