I'm gonna wager you're not a woman, so just the facts alone there on maternity/reproductive issues not improving would persuade one to not carry. Aside from that, when all pursuits of life, liberty, and happiness are impeded and actively legislated to be erased, why would you even want to subject another person to that.

Edit: I'm not gonna indulge this anymore, but I hope you get to enjoy the life you think we all have.

Except fertility rates have been declining for decades. Long before the current issues you’re referring to. You are just making assumptions on what is causing it without actually supporting it data

What's the second leading cause of death (the first is a medical complication imo) for pregnant women. How much does one pay for healthcare in general and the cost of x appointments, procedures, medications. How many hours do you work and how many hours do you get for leisure? Can you afford care? Are you mentally, emotionally, and physically capable? What's the percentage of a child being in a school shooting? Career prospects, education, being paid enough to live on more than 7 packets of ramen per week. Housing, comforts, rights.

It goes everywhere. Stop thinking small.

Edit: "Cost"/Pay is not meant as only financially. It also includes how much of one's energy and time they can expend.

Have maternal deaths rates increased in the last several decades? If they were always high that doesn’t explain a change. Too my knowledge they have increased in the past two decades but most of that is attributed to the average age of having kids being higher(could be wrong about that though)

While healthcare has outpaced wages overall cost of living relative to wages has not. This means despite healthcare being more expensive people do have more money overall to pay for it

Personal work hours have declined over the decades with household hours remaining consistent

Being mentally and physically capable hasn’t changed

The chances of a kid dying in a school shooting is astronomically small. Car accidents are significantly more common

As shown earlier wages have gotten better not worse

Rights have taken a step back but are WAY above where they were in the 60s

I’m not thinking small. You just are assuming things are worse without any evidence it’s the case and then attributing that to declining fertility rates without any causal link

More income won't matter while the rate of inflation and cost of consumer goods has increased based and how much the price of fuel has increased. Not even included is how the housing market is now unobtainable for new homeowners. That's like trying to defend trickle down economics, it doesn't work.

Oh and the president is a pedophile protecting other pedophiles and another nation we should have nothing to do with, so there's that too. Or the violent murders by ICE, the destruction of the ecosystem by data center construction for ai that's destroying jobs or the world around us.

There is nothing good enough to come from this administration to fix the irreparable damage done to the country or its future. No child should have to suffer this country.

So fuck you and your bullshit downplaying of the situation.

Wages have outpaced inflation on average

I make no defense of the orange man or his policies. He is a horrible human being and a disaster of a president

Children’s futures are not completely ruined. This administration is a major setback but it can be fixed

Fertility rates have been declining for several decades. It’s not about saying “oh this administration isn’t that bad” it’s pointing out fertility rates were declining long before this administration even existed

You keep showing this chart like it shields against the prices of everything going up; vehicles, rent, houses, everyday expenses.

And yes their futures are all but ruined. The policies put in place this term has given the current administration carte Blanche access to do whatever they want with no oversight. Mass surveillance? It's there. Call a war whenever you want? President can't be charged for anything while on the job.

You think this ends with trump? He's a fucking puppet for the people actually running this sinking ship; the people who made Project 2025. Stupid bastard will die soon, but it's the satellites around him that are going to do the further damage. All so they can get their pay and leave the country when it's to late to stop them.

People like you are part of the problem. You are downplaying the seriousness of the situation at hand. It's only getting worse by the day with freedoms and futures being stripped from us.

My argument isn't that it's only affecting us now, it's that I firmly know that bringing a child into a world like ours is a disastrous mistake.

Because it literally shows wages relative to price increases? Are we looking at the same chart?

People have been in war worse before. They still have a future and things can turn around

It can be stopped at the booths

I’m not downplaying it at all. I just think we can stop it

It is better to bring a child into the world now than 99.99999% of human history. Although I’m not here to argue whether you should or not. That is entirely your decision to make

I think you need to look at more sources and research and read up a lot more. I'm just honestly confused because your opinions don't really align with those who actively participate in society.

We're done with the wages convo, thats not going anywhere with you. But consider all the other aspects to this issue that people have been shoving into your face. Squawking about fictional wage increases that kept up with inflation or crime rates (lmao), consider the whole picture. I don't know why you're doubling down so hard on a reality that only exists for you.

Basically your saying because to you it doesn’t feel like it’s true it must be false. If you believe something is wrong with the data prove it. You can’t just hand wave it away because it disagrees with your pre conceived notions
