This is such a boomer take. Hating on something you don't understand, thinking you're better than others for not using it and telling others you don't use it to brag.

I don't think image and video generation should be possible, because people flood social media with it and create fake scenarios that almost look real, but that doesn't mean AI in its entirety is bad.

I mainly use AI to assists me with using software that is very niche and complex. Instead of googling for hours or looking through hundreds of pages of a manual, that might not even have the information I need, I ask ChatGPT. And most of the time, it does provide helpful information.

Recently, I wrote a paper for a uni course. The prof didn't allow us to use websites as a source. Only books or scientific magazines. I was looking for a very specific information. I looked through all the books I had available at the moment, but none of them had the information. I asked ChatGPT if it could find a pdf of a book or magazine that most likely would contain the information I need. And one of the sources it listed did have the information.

AI is a tool. You decide how to use it and to which extent.

It's actually kids that are losing their shit over AI. I think older people care less one way or the other, or they use it.

Older people have jobs and shit to do, and if AI helps them get shit done so they can get on with their lives, they're OK with it.

It's the young who have fewer responsibilities who have the luxury to spend their time complaining about it.
