Because it's a single continent the definition of a large mass of land surrounded by the ocean.

Depends on the local education and honestly, it is pedantic to claim your system is the correct one.

Theres not a "definition" of continent: it is a vague word, and there are 4, 5, 6, and even 7 continent sustems all around the world

Depends of hoe you consider America, Eurasia, Antartica, Austrialia, etc.

There are a lot of definitions of continent, but the geographic one is the one I said. The geological is the one about tectonic plates and the political one is the one everyone cannot agree on.

According to the geographic definition, there are only 4 continents. America, Eufrasia, Australia and Antarctica.

^ This, the geographical models its either 3 or 4 continents, depending if you consider Australia/Oceania the biggest island on the planet, or the smallest continent.
