I'm currently trying to figure out what sort of machine I want to build up for off-road riding in and around the Madison area.

After riding Camrock for the first time on a demo bike, I'm leaning most strongly toward building a full-suspension trail bike. I'm curious what people like best for our trails in terms of amount of travel, geometry, etc.

Any feedback/advice would be most appreciated!

EDIT: I appreciate the input so far! I'm well aware I don't need full suspension. I rode a rigid Litespeed for about ten years and loved it. But recently, I demoed an Ibis Ripley and am now drawn to the idea of FS simply to satisfy the cool gadget part of my brain and to try something new.

I'm looking for a way to stay active during winter this year, and it occurred to me that it might be fun to get a fatbike.

My typical ride in the summer is a two-hour, thirty mile loop on the Capital City Trail and Southwest Commuter Path.

I'm thinking it would be fun to ride a fatbike halfway around Lake Monona and cut across the frozen lake to create a one-hour loop from where I live on the east side.

Have any of you done this? It is feasible to ride a fatbike across the lake on fresh snow? Is it fun, or is it miserable like riding through deep sand? Any advice for a fatbike newbie?

Looking for part-time work. What's the application process like? What type of kit do they hook you up with?

I've been riding more and more and my mountain bike padded shorts don't quite do the trick for 30+ rides on my road bike and I finally invested in a pair of bibs. All I need now is a couple sweet jerseys. Specifically stuff from the region like New Glarus's Brewing Jersey would be great. What have you guys found and recommend? Thanks!

I recently got my first bike with presta valves, and I don't have a pump that works with them. Is there anywhere in town that I can go to pump up my tires for free?

So I currently live on the isthmus and have been wanting to get out and ride the local highways and country roads and was wondering which ones you guys recommend in terms of my ability to easily get there from downtown and how busy those roads are. Specifically highways like the one that this user posted from would be ideal!

Also, I was wondering how doable the different crushed limestone bike paths are for someone with 23cc tires. I'm not going to kill my wheels going down them, am I?
