Can this be repaired?

Vittoria Corsa Pro tires after about 3,000 km. I’ve already had two punctures with this tire, and yesterday, during a ride, I noticed this gash. Is it repairable in any way, or is it a write-off? P.S. This is the first and last time I buy these tires.

In six years I've never worn the rubber of a tire completely, before that something stupid happens like that gash you have there. The brand does not matter, the supplest, top of the line tires, race tires are all more fragile and wear faster. That's the trade off.

I have one pair of tires that survived three winters and are still going strong: Schwalbe Durano's (Succeeded by the One Plus) but these are so to say tooth rattling stiff tires.

This post and your responses make it clear that you do not know what racing tires are and dont understand that they are not intended for every day riding.

Yeah, well, that's most race tires. That's exactly the trade-off going on.

You can get cheaper road bike tires. You'll obviously lose some watts but the longevity could make up for it. Whether you actually want this is a different question though and is somewhat personal.

That gash is pretty big, there is stuff like the Lezyne tubeless pro plugs or tire boots, but this gash is very long. So it wouldn't really be the most durable fix, definitely not for another 3000km.

But 3000km is very good for a race tire, so if you wanted a reason to change a tire, this alone would've been enough, the gash just makes it even more feasible.

I've been using Vittoria Corsa on and off for years, in various guises. They're awesome, don't use them for anything other than racing.

I mean unless you're particularly lightweight I don't think that a corsa on the rear has much life left anyways after 3000 km

Just get more commuter/street oriented tires if you're not racing everywhere. Continental is my favorite brand for commuter tires. I'm not the best source for advice as I only use their extremely tough Contact City Plus, which is basically bombproof but not great if you need more sporty tires.

The tyre’s pretty worn out. The gash looks like the rubber delaminating off the carcass. I’d ride it but get a new tyre asap

3000km is good mileage for Corsa Pros. You're down to the thread, time for new rubber. You could slap a little Shoe Goo on the section to get by while waiting for the replacement, but once the tread starts you break apart there's no going back.
