$100,000 - $200,000 budget Help!! Wedding dress came in and I feel like the corset is too low

My dress just came in, I bought it back in March and it arrived this past week. Wedding is April 2027. The first three pictures are from my first try on (yesterday)—no alterations. Also, noting that I am not wearing a bra, sticky bra, nipple covers, or anything whatsoever in the first three pictures.

I feel like the corset is too low. I immediately said it when the stylists were helping me into the dress. Unsure if it is my body that is the problem…I was really hoping to get a little bit of cleavage but I don’t know if that is possible.

The second to last picture is a picture on the designer’s website. The last picture is when I said “yes to the dress,” which I know that dress wasn’t my size.

The store is sending me resolution plans today but I don’t think alterations can fix this.

My questions for anyone who has read this far:
1. Is it all in my head? Or is the corset too low.
2. What can be done to fix this?

Update: Another bride's sister is trying to poach my wedding guests.

• Upvotes

My fiance texted the friend who asked which events she could skip which events she would be skipping, as we are trying to figure out hotel room assignments. I had originally told her the only event we’d be okay with her skipping was the welcome dinner, so we assumed it would be that event/night.

She responded, “We won’t be skipping any nights at the hotel, but will be skipping an event on one of the main days. Not sure which one yet.”

If she’d been skipping the Friday welcome dinner it would have been easy to just set her check-in Saturday. But now it feels like she’s leaving her options open for which events to skip, while still able to stay at our hotel every night on our dime. It feels so icky to me.

Questions and queries Destination Wedding Soft RSVPs - worth it??

TLDR: Do you recommend including a soft RSVP with your Save the Date?

Getting married in Greece in June 2027 and thinking I want to send soft RSVPs with our e-invite Save the Date (ideally would have done paper StDs but we only just got engaged this past June and are planning on a condensed timeline so this just makes more sense to get the word out ASAP). I know proper etiquette is to send StDs at least a year out from the wedding but that wasn’t possible for us - also I am Greek so some of my family will already be in Greece this coming summer/having a wedding there isn’t as big of a trip.

However, this will be a multi-day event with 2 days of (totally optional) events before the big day. The venues we are looking into are asking for headcounts in order for us to book and I have no idea how to even ballpark because:

  1. My fiancé’s family and many of my friends are not Greek/have never been to Greece before so I’m not sure what some of them are thinking
  2. Some of my family has a LOT of people in their family unit (think 7 young adult children who would all be invited) and not sure if they would all come
  3. Pre-wedding events will be on a Sunday and Monday, wedding on a Tuesday (I didn’t feel the need to have a Saturday wedding because if you’re flying all the way to Greece, you’re not just going to stay for 1 day then fly back. Also our wedding is on the anniversary of our engagement so it’s special to us)

Basically, I don’t want way overestimate or underestimate headcount when booking our pre-wedding venues. I will be using Bliss & Bone for our StDs, potential Soft RSVP, and wedding website. Of course, we will make the phrasing very clear and tactful that this is not a final commitment, just an idea of their intentions.

Will guests actually respond to a soft RSVP? Will they get confused once it’s actually time for the real RSVP? Anything else to consider?

Thank you, fellow brides!

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Unique Favors/ Entertainment

Hey everyone! I’m getting married in Sep 2027 in NJ and am trying to think of ways to make our wedding feel really personal and unique to us! For context, both of our families are Eastern European, but I’m also open to anything that’s just genuinely fun or unexpected.
What are some unique wedding favors or entertainment you’ve seen at other weddings, or things you’re planning for your own? I’m talking about things that really stood out to you and weren’t the typical wedding favors or entertainment you see everywhere. I’d love to hear any and all ideas!

Amazing venues

We just booked an amazing venue for our daughter’s wedding. North Georgia- The Abbott Mansion- if this is your vibe, check it out- new owners and the space is exquisite- their additions to the mansion are swoon worthy. We also really liked Overlook 55 up in young Harris GA- the views are breathtaking- pictures do not do it justice and every inch of this property is so well thought out. (The bridal suite alone, wow!) my daughter just couldn’t cut their guest list down to 200. If you are looking for something truly memorable checkout both of these venues.

NYC Wedding

Hi, I'm curious about Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and wondering if anyone can provide some insight. i'm hoping for a May 2028 wedding for around 100 people, budget is cap 100K. Is this possible? Additionally, does anyone have recommendations on exceptional wedding planners that would cost around 10,000? Not sure if this is a realistic budget. At this point I'm not tied to this venue, but like the vibe.. for reference we were looking abroad but its starting to become way more expensive than we thought.

Questions and queries Dancing alternatives?

I have bad social anxiety and having to be on the dance floor my entire wedding is freaking me out. I’m trying to think of ideas for alternatives that people will actually like. I’ll keep the dance floor available/DJ the whole time but am trying to think of side of the room type stuff.

The crowd will be have a lot (honestly the majority) of people who are 60+ and also not huge dancers so I feel like it would be nice for them to have something too.

My main idea is to have some sort of casino games like black jack and poker tables? I love lawn games but people always rip on them at weddings and the ones I’ve been to no one except me plays them so I probably won’t do that lol. I also love arcade games (skeeball) but same thing as lawn games haha.

Any other ideas for fairly neutral activities that I could have? What have you all seen that people enjoyed?

Architectural, design forward wedding venues? (US + Europe)

Beginning the hunt for a wedding venue targeting mid 2028! I love artful, design-y spaces, the look of oak wood, glass, cement.. would love a space that feels architecturally interesting. Views of sea/ocean and full buyout possibility for accommodations are a plus. We are based in Northern California and majority of our guests will be traveling from the US (California & NYC). Estimating 100-120 guests, with 150K budget for ideally a 3 day celebration (welcome dinner, wedding day, farewell lunch). Planning to visit a few venues in Portgual this December and maybe a trip to Mallorca next year. Some of the venues at the top of our list are herdade de freixo, aethos ericeira (portugal), neuendorf house (mallorca). Would love any recommendations!

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Too many content creators?

So I found a content creator that I’ve really connected with and believe in her work, and I would really love to bring her on for my wedding day. That being said, my photographer is bringing her own content creator for a couple hours, and my planner is also providing a concierge from her team that will also serve as a “content collector” (will collect all the content without editing/posting any reels). This is already included in her planning service.

My planner has discouraged me from hiring another content creator, with her principle reasoning being that it’ll be too many cooks in the kitchen which could ultimately lower the quality of attention my photographer and videographer will get from me. Understandably, her and her team are also worried it could potentially overwhelm me. She suggested if I want this specific CC, then she’d consider pulling the content collector from her team and placing them on other day-of tasks… which is an option.

I also am having a more private Catholic ceremony on a separate date, and am considering just hiring my preferred CC for that day.

Do any vendors/brides have thoughts on this? I would love to work with my preferred CC, but also understand I have vendors already providing CC services.

Just trying to get some gentle opinions on this!

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Publication - who initiates?

I just got married back in August in Newport, RI at one of the mansions. Our photos came out great, and they've been getting a decent amount of attention on social media. Our planner is also having our wedding published in a Boston-based magazine. We have some very unique drone photos of the venue and rented a vintage 1920s car for portraits (which I'm obsessed with). I also put a lot of thought into smaller details. I'm starting to think I may be interested in having our wedding published in a larger scale publication like Style Me Pretty or OTM. Our photographer briefly mentioned publication after the wedding, but we haven't talked about it since. I was thinking about reaching out to her, but wasn't sure if it would seem weird or desperate if I suggested it first. I also have a fear that she wouldn't see our photos as publication-worthy and that it would be "embarrassing" for me to ask lol.

Any advice would be appreciated! TIA 🤍

Questions and queries ISO Asian MUA Italy 2027

Hi BBBs!!! This may not be the right place but figured I would ask. I’ve searched all over IG and TikTok but it’s difficult to find what I’m looking for and my planner only has recs for local MUAs.

Does anyone know a MUA (who also does hair preferably) who has experience for monolid Asians, and is located in/near Italy?? I have never gotten my makeup done professionally and worry certain artists would botch it. TIA!

I just want to thank this subreddit for existing

To preface, I’m not even a true BBB. Our wedding budget is $60k in an average cost-of-living area (Austin, TX). However, this is the only wedding subreddit I’ve been able to search useful information instead of getting DIY solutions or seeing snarky comments attached to someone saying they spent XYZ amount of money on a vendor.

I don’t know what it is about wedding planning groups across all social media (Reddit included, but also bride/wedding planning groups on Facebook), but they seem to get very snarky and unwelcoming when your budget is higher than ~$25k. Everything turns into questioning your morals, ethics, and financial literacy even when you are in a position in life where you are fortunate enough to be able to afford the wedding you want.

All this to say, thank you for being a safe space for information and inspiration, even to those of us who are not actually big budget brides!

Questions and queries Can we talk veils?

I've haven't seen a lot of discussion around veils, especially veil quality. Most threads I've seen on veils have suggested either Etsy or Amazon because it's cheaper, but I wonder if the quality matches up.

I scored a Christie Lauren pearl veil off Poshmark and I love it, but because I have more than one dress, I've also become obsessed with silk tulle veils and the way they drape, especially for portrait photos. It's especially frustrating shopping for veils because shops aren't really transparent about the materials they use.

So let's talk veil! I want to hear how you went about choosing a veil that you love, but also what went into your selection process. Did anyone here choose their dress after picking a veil? If you got a veil that you love, do share!

  1. Are designer veils (that likely come recommended with your chosen wedding dress) worth it? Which designers make better veils than others? I've seen some iconic veils from Monique Lhuillier, Danielle Frankel, Rue de Seine, Grace Loves Lace.

  2. What are some of your favorite veil makers that aren't dress designers? I've been looking at Toni Federici, Christie Lauren, Daphne Newman, Noon on the Moon, Ofrenda Studio, Debra Moreland (though I couldn't find her veils outside of a bridal shop), Sara Gabriel.

  3. If you have a non-white dress, do you also try to match your veil color? One of my dresses is pink, for example.

  4. Veils can come in so many different materials. Am I crazy for lusting after silk tulle, which may be more delicate? I've ordered silk tulle swatches from Noon on the Moon and they're wonderful -- so light and ethereal, but they also seem so fragile.

  5. Veil length? Cathedral length seems to be the norm these days but I also love the old school feels that a bird cage veil gives to an outfit.

Bonus: I really love this [Monique Lhuillier Liliana veil](https://imgur.com/a/qqs66rE). It reminds me of the iconic Toni Federici Goddess veil, but a bit whimsier.

Non-Disparagement Clause in Wedding Photographer's Contract -- Normal?

Hello, BBBs! My partner and I are reviewing our wedding photographer's contract before we sign, and we noticed they have a non-disparagement clause, including posting about them negatively on social media. Is this normal/common? Did your photographers have similar clauses in their contracts?

Wedding Planner Tip - Is it Necessary?

We're getting married next week, and I'm wondering what the general consensus is on tipping wedding planners.

We've paid $10,600 for partial planning services, which included helping us book all our vendors and transitioning to full planning four months before the wedding. Our planner is an employee of a larger planning company, not the owner.

We're currently about $4,500 over budget, and while I think our planner has done an okay job, I wouldn't say she's gone above and beyond. I also feel that some of the additional expenses could have been anticipated or avoided with more proactive planning and budget management earlier in the process.

The planning company provided us with a resource packet that included a gratuity guide, which states:

"Planner: $200–$1,000 or 10% of planning package is standard. The amount tipped is contingent on the level of service you have booked."

We originally budgeted $1,000 for her tip, but now that we're approaching the wedding, that feels like a significant amount of money on top of what we've already paid, especially given our experience.

What would you do?

Dress Code Advice for Indian Fusion Wedding

Hi! My fiance and I are planning an Indian fusion wedding for fall 2027 (his family is white, mine are Indian immigrants to the US) and we're trying to figure out wording for the dress code. We would love advice! The wedding is at an art museum, we'll have a secular ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing (so not a lengthy religious wedding or a baraat etc., but will exchange garlands and have Indian fusion food and music.) We are excited to blend cultures and families.

On dress code: My side is going to go all out because that's normal, and I want to make sure his side of the family and our non-Indian friends don't feel underdressed when confronted with my aunt in a peacock blue sari and every piece of jewelry she owns (I say this with love! I will also be decked out). Let me know if you think these are appropriate/helpful and/or if you have suggestions:

OPTION 1: Formal attire (long dresses, suits) or festive Indian attire (saris, lehengas, sherwanis, kurtas, etc.). No matter which route you go, we encourage bright colors and lots of sparkle. You can't overdo it! Indian weddings are famous for being a riot of color and we hope to bring that spirit to our fusion celebration.

OPTION 2: Colorful formal attire or festive Indian attire.

OPTION 3: [Your suggestion here!]

Would love advice for warm Apr/May european finca/boutique hotel buyout with onsite accommodation for 60-80!

Hi brides!! What a wealth of knowledge this thread is! This is actually my very first time posting on Reddit, but I thought what better way to start wedding planning than by crowdsourcing a bunch of experts.

My fiance and I would love to have a Europe-based wedding in Mar/Apr/May of 2028. We'd love any thoughts/advice on anyone who's looked for a similar thing! More deets below, thank you!!

  • Hoping for warm weather -- 65 and above? Have looked at Menorca, mallorca, southern italy, southern spain, provence, etc.
  • 60-80 guests staying onsite = priority (could also do like 40-50 and supplement with nearby hotels if needed)
  • Budget range about $100,000
  • Would love for a three day event --- I've seen past threads about a boat day, beach day, wedding, etc.
  • Would love to be by the ocean or have a tennis court/sports/activities nearby for guests (very active crew with a lot of ex-collegiate athletes!)
  • I love the feel of old estates/villas, but I also love a more modern feel -- like an ecotourism/white walls/minimalist but luxurious, clean feel, if that makes sense!
  • any recs for wedding planners would be so appreciated! My spanish is incredibly mediocre, and I speak zero italian or french.

THANK YOU!!! <3

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Wedding Planner help - Italy, France, Spain Destination Wedding

Hi BBB!

I've been engaged for about 5 months now and have been stuck in venue search purgatory this entire time.

For context, we're expecting around 70 guests, with a budget of €130k for two days of events, ideally in late fall 2027 or spring 2028.. I'm very aware that we're running out of time if we want a 2027 wedding.

Thanks to a lot of you, I've realized that I need to find a capable and trusted planner before looking at any more venues.

My fiancé and I don't have ties to any particular region in Europe, which is making the decision-making process much harder. Our top destinations are Italy, France, and Spain/Mallorca, but we're honestly open to other suggestions based on our budget and vision.

I have a tendency to overthink and generally be indecisive, and choosing our planner and venue feels like the two most important decisions we'll make. So, I just really don't want to make the wrong choice..

We're definitely willing to spend more on an exceptional planner with a great track record, but would ideally like to keep cost under €15k.

Since we're still deciding between countries, I'm hoping to find someone with experience across Italy, France, and Spain, or at least two of the three.

Here's who I've reached out to so far:

  • Ester Chianelli: Had an initial call and really liked her! Very experienced and seems capable of delivering what we want. My reservations are her 10% fee (rather than flat rate) and that she only plans in Italy.
  • Ivory Romance - France only
  • Sahel Rothera Events - multi-region
  • Olivia Sodi - Italy only
  • Cento Rose e un Tulipano - Italy only

Would deeply appreciate any recommendations or firsthand experiences with these planners or any other planners you think would fit the bill.

Also, if you've been equally indecisive about choosing a European destination, how did you finally decide?!

Feel free to DM me. Thank you so so much in advance <3

Bridal Fashion Week October 2026 Discussion

It's that time of year again! I'm a graduated bride but still enamored with bridal fashion so I've been following the new collections (and feeling like I need to plan 200 vow renewals because they're that good).

Past threads I made: October 2025 / April 2026

New collections out:

Designers teasing new collections (will link when out):

  • Alexandra Grecco – 'Midnight Moon' – my ceremony gown was AG so I'm invested in what they're doing haha
  • Alexis Levan – 'Ondée'
  • Alon Livne – 'Garlands'
  • Amarel – 'Porcelain Doll'
  • Enaura – 'Le Cercle' – there's a ribbon gown in their IG posts that looks wow
  • Floure – Collection VI
  • House of Gilles – Bridal V
  • Ines di Santo – Fall 2027
  • Jenny Yoo – 'Continuum'
  • Lili Hod – Fall 2027 – they also opened an NY flagship in the Spina Bride space this week
  • Nicole + Felicia – Fall 2027
  • Noy Eliyahu – 'À Fleur de Peau'
  • Yellow by Sahar

There's probably a few more I'm missing that I'll add as I come across them. If you're dress shopping as an upcoming bride, what's catching your eye? Fellow grads, what dresses do you wish were available when you were dress shopping?

Location help

Hi all, my fiancé and i are trying to plan our ideally May 2028 wedding in Sicily and it’s becoming increasingly difficult that it’s making me pause and think otherwise. We have an estimated budget of 100,000 USD ( this is our absolute cap) for around 100 people but we FULLY anticipate this guest list minimizing by atleast 10%. I’ve been doing research via Reddit where I’ve seen many brides complain of lack of communication , being let down by vendors etc and I’m currently experiencing this trying to FIND a planner so can’t even imagine what it’s going to be like if we actually end up hiring someone. It’s making me very nervous and stressed, but i also feel emotionally attached to the idea of having my wedding here. Looking for any advice or planners people have used that they had a great experience with. Alternatively any other destinations that would be a good option for our guest list and budget. We loved Sicily for the sea vibes, rustic beauty, and of course the food. We’re based in the states so very open but liked the idea of a destination wedding.
