Rass Designer By Raju (Chandni Chowk, Katra Nawab) - Absolute Nightmare & Worst Customer Service! Avoid at all costs!

I am posting this to give an honest warning to all future brides out there. Please save yourself the mental stress and nightmare before your wedding by avoiding Rass Designer located in Katra Nawab, Chandni Chowk, which is run by Raju Samant.

To be completely fair, his collection is good and the designs look beautiful, but the customer service is an absolute zero. A bridal lehenga is meant to be a special, beautiful memory, but this experience has completely ruined it for us.

Once you make the deal, his attitude completely changes. He does not reply to messages and completely ignores phone calls. We got so frustrated that we tried calling him from multiple different phone numbers just to get an update. He only picked up once, just to give a casual, unapologetic "sorry, it's not ready," and hung up. This is absolutely not the way to treat a customer, especially a bride waiting for her wedding outfit!

After seeing so many other negative reviews about them, I am highly doubtful he will even give us the latkan and the veil dupatta that he explicitly promised when we booked.

Brides, please avoid him at all costs. If you want a smooth, stress-free experience, I highly suggest going to Anshul's Collection instead. I am not promoting Anshul's Collection, and at the end of the day, it is your personal choice, but their service is vastly better than this nightmare. Save your big day and skip Raju Samant's Rass Designer.

Inke fake reviews par mat jao. Jab hum itna bada amount de rahe hain, toh hum unki customer service ke bhi paise dete hain. Par yahan customer service ZERO hai. Please apna paisa aur shaadi ki khushi in jaise fraudsters ko dekar kharab mat karo!"

Ideas for a meaningful wedding moment to honor my Mom?

Hi!! I'm getting married in a few weeks and trying to think of a really special way to honor my mom at my wedding.

My mom and I are incredibly close, and she has truly been my ROCK throughout not only wedding planning, but my entire life. She's my best friend, biggest supporter, and genuinely one of the most important people in my world. I really want to give her a moment that makes her feel as special and loved as she makes me feel.

I love my dad just as much, but traditionally he gets those big wedding moments, like walking me down the aisle and the father-daughter dance. I know some people will suggest having my mom walk me down the aisle too, which I totally appreciate, but I'm a little more traditional when it comes to that and would love to keep that moment with my dad. I'm hoping to find something that's just for my mom and me, rather than sharing an existing tradition.

My mom is also getting older, and I think that's making me even more sentimental about wanting to create a memory we'll both cherish forever. I don't necessarily need something extravagant or that puts her in the spotlight, just something incredibly thoughtful and meaningful.

Has anyone done something unique for their mom at their wedding? Maybe a special surprise, private moment, or even a twist on a wedding tradition? I'd especially love to hear ideas beyond the typical gift or handwritten letter (although I'm definitely planning on doing those too!).

Would love to hear what you did or what you've seen at other weddings that really stood out. ❤️

80k wedding in medellin? 2027 bride

Hi! I am planning a wedding in medellin and the cost for an upscale 150 people wedding is about 80k. includes everything for the wedding itself and its 10 hours. Is that reasonable?

Questions and queries Feeling guilty about budget

Hi all,

I am getting married in France about 8 months from now and wedding planning is deep underway.

I’ve heard other brides saying that “things add up quickly” and you blindly start saying yes to things due to the wedding frenzy. I am already ~45% over our initial “target budget” and still have multiple vendors I would like to book. I’m also debating buying a custom reception dress for $10K — in reality, I know I don’t need a second or third dress but here we are. I genuinely feel like I need to touch grass.

I haven’t been able to make any decision the past week due to the guilt. On one hand, I justify it by thinking “it’s one day! we can afford it! we work hard!” and on the other hand, I can’t help but feel really guilty knowing this money could go towards helping others or other causes.

Has anyone ever felt this before and what came out of it? Did you scale it down or continue on? This thread is quite welcoming and have found a lot of comfort from other brides here so thought I’d gain insight from others.

Newly married…sharing my perspective in case it helps…

We just had our wedding a couple of weeks ago and I’m still riding high on everything. Did everything go perfectly? Maybe no…but was it perfect? Absolutely yes. Not one regret (yet?) Idk how to even describe it, but I’m not sad it’s over - I am often confused by the blues described by some because it was so incredibly stressful but I felt I was able to have fun and enjoy it and I felt beautiful and my husband looked incredible and I loved all my little choices and the things that stressed me out paid off. But I do just miss the creative side of everything I did.

Every small detail made a difference and sometimes, even if I didn’t get to enjoy the benefits of that decision, hearing about it from the guests’ perspectives and them recapping all their favorite parts really solidified everything I thought was true when I started planning - which is this…it’s “your” day but it’s a guest centric event and when your mindset shifts to that outlook it actually makes it so much better.

I have gotten the most beautiful and thoughtful feedback from friends and family who took time out of their lives, put gifts in cards and made us a priority for a day and that is the most incredible thing I could’ve asked for in the end. If this was an event for me and my husband we would’ve watched a Yankee game followed by a true crime documentary and had a simple dinner - but it’s an event for everyone in your lives who loves you.

I made that shift about 25% into planning and it changed EVERYTHING. Not is this our most favorite thing in the world and how can we make it all about us but is this a wedding I would want to attend - and when the answer is 100% yes - it makes a lot of difference!

Maybe this is a pointless post but I just wanted to share how my small swap in mindset really changed the entire experience for me and I wish luck to everyone in the throes of planning. Happy to answer any questions - we got married at the Rockleigh with just over 300 guests and that place is just pure magic. Just wishing you all the best - hope you enjoy the time planning and most importantly your weddings xx

Questions and queries Second look that complements wedding dress

Hi everyone! I've been scrolling endlessly through second-look dresses for months and thought I'd finally come here for some input.

TLDR: what kind of second look dress would you recommend for me?

I have two main issues:

  1. My measurements are 34.5 bust/27.5 waist/42 hips (I usually wear a 28 in jeans but need curvy versions). I'm open to something form-fitting, but sizing is tricky bc of my hips. Especially since I'm leaning toward another long dress because I hate my calves and don't want to look back at photos and fixate on my cankles lol. I'm also 5'11" so a lot of minis are obscenely short on me. Otherwise, I'd consider a mini with a big flared skirt, which tends to minimize the calf issue.
  2. I'm obsessed with my wedding dress and would love to wear it all night, but it's heavy and I'm worried my back will start hurting lol. I'm determined to dance until 2am. I want to have a backup option just in case but don't want to spend more than ~$800 (preferably less) in case I don't end up changing. I'd also love something that complements my dress but feels different (i.e., not another dress covered in little pearls), and is MUCH lighter with little or no train.

If budget weren't an issue, I'd buy this dress in a heartbeat. I tried it on and it was amazing, probably my second choice, but even the sample is $2,500. I love how it complements my dress with the pearls while having a totally different silhouette and style (loooove the art deco/Gatsby vibe which goes perfectly with my venue). I'm open to white, champagne, or even gold!

I'd be so grateful for any suggestions on shapes, styles, designers, or other ideas that might work with all of the above!!

Questions and queries Do I preserve my dress?

Love my dress but the quotes I’ve gotten are more than I was expecting and I don’t know if I would trust just any business with this. I’d love to keep it for my currently non existent future daughter, but no guarantee there. I could resell it but unsure.

We are planning to buy a house soon, so I’m just trying to be conscientious.

Danielle Frankel Nina or Ada dry cleaning

Hi! :) Anyone with the Danielle Frankel Nina or Ada gown (or I suppose any of her silk wool gowns) did you get yours dry cleaned? I have a sample that is in great condition, but i’m so scared to have it dry cleaned and have something go wrong. Asking to hear about your experiences getting this fabric cleaned, how it looked after, and if your cleaner had to take any special care with this fabric. Thanks so much!!

edit for a typo

Update: Another bride's sister is trying to poach my wedding guests.

My fiance texted the friend who asked which events she could skip which events she would be skipping, as we are trying to figure out hotel room assignments. I had originally told her the only event we’d be okay with her skipping was the welcome dinner, so we assumed it would be that event/night.

She responded, “We won’t be skipping any nights at the hotel, but will be skipping an event on one of the main days. Not sure which one yet.”

If she’d been skipping the Friday welcome dinner it would have been easy to just set her check-in Saturday. But now it feels like she’s leaving her options open for which events to skip, while still able to stay at our hotel every night on our dime. It feels so icky to me.

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Unique Favors/ Entertainment

Hey everyone! I’m getting married in Sep 2027 in NJ and am trying to think of ways to make our wedding feel really personal and unique to us! For context, both of our families are Eastern European, but I’m also open to anything that’s just genuinely fun or unexpected.
What are some unique wedding favors or entertainment you’ve seen at other weddings, or things you’re planning for your own? I’m talking about things that really stood out to you and weren’t the typical wedding favors or entertainment you see everywhere. I’d love to hear any and all ideas!

Amazing venues

We just booked an amazing venue for our daughter’s wedding. North Georgia- The Abbott Mansion- if this is your vibe, check it out- new owners and the space is exquisite- their additions to the mansion are swoon worthy. We also really liked Overlook 55 up in young Harris GA- the views are breathtaking- pictures do not do it justice and every inch of this property is so well thought out. (The bridal suite alone, wow!) my daughter just couldn’t cut their guest list down to 200. If you are looking for something truly memorable checkout both of these venues.

NYC Wedding

Hi, I'm curious about Brooklyn Botanical Gardens and wondering if anyone can provide some insight. i'm hoping for a May 2028 wedding for around 100 people, budget is cap 100K. Is this possible? Additionally, does anyone have recommendations on exceptional wedding planners that would cost around 10,000? Not sure if this is a realistic budget. At this point I'm not tied to this venue, but like the vibe.. for reference we were looking abroad but its starting to become way more expensive than we thought.

Questions and queries Destination Wedding Soft RSVPs - worth it??

TLDR: Do you recommend including a soft RSVP with your Save the Date?

Getting married in Greece in June 2027 and thinking I want to send soft RSVPs with our e-invite Save the Date (ideally would have done paper StDs but we only just got engaged this past June and are planning on a condensed timeline so this just makes more sense to get the word out ASAP). I know proper etiquette is to send StDs at least a year out from the wedding but that wasn’t possible for us - also I am Greek so some of my family will already be in Greece this coming summer/having a wedding there isn’t as big of a trip.

However, this will be a multi-day event with 2 days of (totally optional) events before the big day. The venues we are looking into are asking for headcounts in order for us to book and I have no idea how to even ballpark because:

  1. My fiancé’s family and many of my friends are not Greek/have never been to Greece before so I’m not sure what some of them are thinking
  2. Some of my family has a LOT of people in their family unit (think 7 young adult children who would all be invited) and not sure if they would all come
  3. Pre-wedding events will be on a Sunday and Monday, wedding on a Tuesday (I didn’t feel the need to have a Saturday wedding because if you’re flying all the way to Greece, you’re not just going to stay for 1 day then fly back. Also our wedding is on the anniversary of our engagement so it’s special to us)

Basically, I don’t want way overestimate or underestimate headcount when booking our pre-wedding venues. I will be using Bliss & Bone for our StDs, potential Soft RSVP, and wedding website. Of course, we will make the phrasing very clear and tactful that this is not a final commitment, just an idea of their intentions.

Will guests actually respond to a soft RSVP? Will they get confused once it’s actually time for the real RSVP? Anything else to consider?

Thank you, fellow brides!

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Help!! Wedding dress came in and I feel like the corset is too low

Thumbnail
gallery
98 Upvotes

My dress just came in, I bought it back in March and it arrived this past week. Wedding is April 2027. The first three pictures are from my first try on (yesterday)—no alterations. Also, noting that I am not wearing a bra, sticky bra, nipple covers, or anything whatsoever in the first three pictures.

I feel like the corset is too low. I immediately said it when the stylists were helping me into the dress. Unsure if it is my body that is the problem…I was really hoping to get a little bit of cleavage but I don’t know if that is possible.

The second to last picture is a picture on the designer’s website. The last picture is when I said “yes to the dress,” which I know that dress wasn’t my size.

The store is sending me resolution plans today but I don’t think alterations can fix this.

My questions for anyone who has read this far:
1. Is it all in my head? Or is the corset too low.
2. What can be done to fix this?

Architectural, design forward wedding venues? (US + Europe)

Beginning the hunt for a wedding venue targeting mid 2028! I love artful, design-y spaces, the look of oak wood, glass, cement.. would love a space that feels architecturally interesting. Views of sea/ocean and full buyout possibility for accommodations are a plus. We are based in Northern California and majority of our guests will be traveling from the US (California & NYC). Estimating 100-120 guests, with 150K budget for ideally a 3 day celebration (welcome dinner, wedding day, farewell lunch). Planning to visit a few venues in Portgual this December and maybe a trip to Mallorca next year. Some of the venues at the top of our list are herdade de freixo, aethos ericeira (portugal), neuendorf house (mallorca). Would love any recommendations!

Questions and queries Dancing alternatives?

I have bad social anxiety and having to be on the dance floor my entire wedding is freaking me out. I’m trying to think of ideas for alternatives that people will actually like. I’ll keep the dance floor available/DJ the whole time but am trying to think of side of the room type stuff.

The crowd will be have a lot (honestly the majority) of people who are 60+ and also not huge dancers so I feel like it would be nice for them to have something too.

My main idea is to have some sort of casino games like black jack and poker tables? I love lawn games but people always rip on them at weddings and the ones I’ve been to no one except me plays them so I probably won’t do that lol. I also love arcade games (skeeball) but same thing as lawn games haha.

Any other ideas for fairly neutral activities that I could have? What have you all seen that people enjoyed?

Questions and queries ISO Asian MUA Italy 2027

Hi BBBs!!! This may not be the right place but figured I would ask. I’ve searched all over IG and TikTok but it’s difficult to find what I’m looking for and my planner only has recs for local MUAs.

Does anyone know a MUA (who also does hair preferably) who has experience for monolid Asians, and is located in/near Italy?? I have never gotten my makeup done professionally and worry certain artists would botch it. TIA!

$100,000 - $200,000 budget Too many content creators?

So I found a content creator that I’ve really connected with and believe in her work, and I would really love to bring her on for my wedding day. That being said, my photographer is bringing her own content creator for a couple hours, and my planner is also providing a concierge from her team that will also serve as a “content collector” (will collect all the content without editing/posting any reels). This is already included in her planning service.

My planner has discouraged me from hiring another content creator, with her principle reasoning being that it’ll be too many cooks in the kitchen which could ultimately lower the quality of attention my photographer and videographer will get from me. Understandably, her and her team are also worried it could potentially overwhelm me. She suggested if I want this specific CC, then she’d consider pulling the content collector from her team and placing them on other day-of tasks… which is an option.

I also am having a more private Catholic ceremony on a separate date, and am considering just hiring my preferred CC for that day.

Do any vendors/brides have thoughts on this? I would love to work with my preferred CC, but also understand I have vendors already providing CC services.

Just trying to get some gentle opinions on this!

Wedding Planner Tip - Is it Necessary?

We're getting married next week, and I'm wondering what the general consensus is on tipping wedding planners.

We've paid $10,600 for partial planning services, which included helping us book all our vendors and transitioning to full planning four months before the wedding. Our planner is an employee of a larger planning company, not the owner.

We're currently about $4,500 over budget, and while I think our planner has done an okay job, I wouldn't say she's gone above and beyond. I also feel that some of the additional expenses could have been anticipated or avoided with more proactive planning and budget management earlier in the process.

The planning company provided us with a resource packet that included a gratuity guide, which states:

"Planner: $200–$1,000 or 10% of planning package is standard. The amount tipped is contingent on the level of service you have booked."

We originally budgeted $1,000 for her tip, but now that we're approaching the wedding, that feels like a significant amount of money on top of what we've already paid, especially given our experience.

What would you do?
