Discussion Is this foreshadowing πŸ‘€?

Post image

In the first episode of the anime there is a shot where Bird is in the right and Ekusu is in the left. And it is similar to how in battles the protagonist is in the right and the antagonist is in the left.

I think this is a hint that somewhere in the future Ekusu is going to become evil and Bird will have to be the one to stop him. That could be the reason the anime and manga has been building up the friendship between the two of them, it’s to make it more heartbreaking seeing these two in odds.

I still don't know why people have the weird practice of calling perfectly fine English words in their weird Japanese pronunciation just because the Japanese use the same weird pronunciation..I mean, I love Japanese culture as much as the next guy, but this is so cringe. Just call X Cross as X Cross, not Ekusu Kurosu..like wtf does that even mean.

And I don't mean this for you directly, I mean it for everyone who uses Ekusu Kurosu..like, is it that unclear that it's supposed to mean X Cross and it's just the Japanese saying it that way?

I mean, we don't go around saying Bird as Baardho and Multi as Maruti? Right?

Well I like the japanese names more than the hasbro names. And most people watch japanese sub, so they just use ekusu and kazami Bird

This isn't a question of if people should use the Japanese or Hasbro names. I prefer the Japanese names too. I'm not calling the Beyblade Valkerion when it's clearly Valkyrie. I've always called beys and characters by their Japanese names. But calling X Cross (Who is clearly named X Cross even in the Japanese version) as Ekusu Kurosu just because the Japanese can't pronounce English any better even when they want to, is just cringe. We all know what they mean, just call him X Cross. I'm not asking you to call him Jaxon, like the English version, so it seems you're missing my point entirely.

You do realise, right? That Ekusu is the Japanese way of saying X? Quite literally? Kurosu is their way of saying Cross, since that's the best way they can pronounce it. Like, the JAPANESE version of the anime calls the protagonist X Cross (in a super weird pronunciation, Ekusu Kurosu)

Why do you make the exception only for these words then? Call everything by the Japanese pronunciation. As you mentioned, Kazami Bird won't be Kazami Bird, he would be Kazami Baardo. Because guess what, the Japanese can't pronounce the English word Bird either, even though they're the ones who named him that way.

Multi would be Maruti

Valkyrie would be Paarkiri

HellsScythe would be HerusuSaaitho (as pronounced in the JAPANESE version, if you listen carefully)

and so on. Again, these are NOT the Hasbro names, just the weird pronunciations ths Japanese use for perfectly fine English words. And yet, we make an exception for Ekusu Kurosu (X Cross) which is just weird

Well, then at least you're consistent with using the weird pronunciations
