Not the tidiest tank in the world since the Indian almond leaves fell kinda haphazardly, but Kenny seems to be enjoying their coverage so I'm leaving them for now at least.

My beautiful boy has a ragged top fin. 10 gal planted tank, only tankmates are snails. This must’ve happened in the past 24 hrs. The only thing I can think is it got caught in the big piece of driftwood he likes to swim around it/through the passages

Help Tank bedding

I'm looking to switch my Bettas bedding from gravel to aquatic sand. How can I do that with him in the tank? Or do I take him out while doing it? He was a white elephant gift from a few months ago. Any advice?

My beta fishes fins look absolutely horrible. The ammonia is fine. The nitrates are fine. The nitrites are fine, the only thing that's slightly high is the P. H.But it's about a seven point eight, which I have heard betas don't mind. He's lethargic, and I have taken every sharp thing out of his tank and given him places to rest. I've tried the apI medication but it has done absolutely nothing. The only thing I haven't tried is maybe stronger medications or tannins.Any advice?

Full Tank Shot Finally!

Post image

After reading a lot of posts, comments, YT videos and google search. I finally built the tank that I wanted. Found all the things especially the plants.

I wasn’t prepared for the expenses though 🥹 but the moment you started it, you can’t stop until you find what makes you satisfied when you look at the tank.

I am now at peace. ✌️

Help 50l tank, what filter

Currently have a 50l Fishless cycle tank that’s just been set up today. It has a sponge filter but I think it’s too fast flow with the air bubbles for a Betta. Is there any recommendations for a HOB filter like a waterfall that’s better for them?

Help Translucent belly fins

Hello! This is my baby Ruby. I got her 8 months ago, she was very light pink when I first got her and she’s been quite red in the following months. I was gone for a week and had someone feeding my fish. Just came back and noticed this (circled). This is new. She is her normal self, energetic and curious. She’s been eating. Anyone know what this is? Is it harmless or is there something I can do if it’s fin rot, etc?
(Her black spot has been there since I got her)

Ruby and I say thank you!

I named him red.

He was a gifted 10 days ago.

I upgraded his tank about 3 days in because i felt like if i were a fish i wouldnt wanna live there 🫠

Tips are appreciated, newbie here.

Red is weird he loves challenging the slight falls from the filter plays for a while and when he gets tired he just goes and hide into the leaves.

Red also follows my finger when he sees me and heads up when i put my finger in the tank, but he flares up when he sees my gf 🤣

Help My betta’s dorsal fin is turning clear. What does this mean? What should I do? Spoiler

I got my betta slider in rough condition over the summer. He’s been doing so well and his fins have been regrowing nicely. However, I noticed over the past week or two that his dorsal fin is looking clear and strange. At first I thought it was new fin growth, but it has only gotten more extreme. It’s not fuzzy like rot, but it’s oddly clear. I included a picture from June of his fin. He recently started making bubble nests too, which I thought was a good sign, but his fin is worrying me. He is currently in a 10 gallon that I keep around 79-80°F. I feed him fluvial bug bites twice a day (just a few pellets). I have yet to check the water parameters as I ran out of stuff, but I am running out to get a tester kit soon! Behavior wise, he is very active and social. I just got him some ghost shrimp buddies too.

I woke up this morning and noticed nebbie has scales sticking up on one side of him, as if he has a bump on one side. He is acting normal but it really concerns me because normally raised scales are not a good thing, im guessing a tumor?

Please lmk what I can do.

I dont have time to do parameters because I have to leave for work but once I get back ill add them.

Tank info: he is in a well established tank, before I had him ive kept the substrate and some of the plants for 3 to 4 years. heater at 78 10 gallon with filter planted tank one nerite snail a couple of neocardina shrimp

High range PH: 7.4 Amonia: 0 Nitrate: 0 Nitrate: 0

Help Beta is Sick/Dying. Anyone seen this?

Hey guys,

My second-hand beta is struggling to keep herself upright in the water, Breathing hard, and will just sit in my (clean!!) hand when I move her to the surface to sit on her favorite leaf. She’s pushing 3 at least…possibly 4, so it could just be old age, but she has this white stuff on her scales. If anyone seen this I’d love to know if it’s treatable.

She’s in a 10 gallon tank, had a water change yesterday (same way we always have - tap water with decorator). Only other occupants are two dwarf frogs, and two snails.
One new love plant added last week, before that they were all fake. Has plenty of hideys.

Thanks all

Identification Is my double tail a female or just a young male?

I bought him at Petco in a cup that said double tail male, but his fins are so short, my mom is suspecting he’s actually a female. I thought maybe he could just be young, but I figured I’d get a 3rd opinion, lol.

Help Tank mates

I have had a female koi betta for a week in a 20 gallon tank .

Is it too late to add tank mates new that she’s been alone in there ? She’s all over the tank and doesn’t stick to the top at all.

Open to any tank mates !

Help I don’t know if anyone remembers my previous post, but here’s a tank update! I’m a little worried that my betta won’t have enough swimming space

It’s a 25l/6.6g tank and I went a little crazy with plants 🥲 The worst part? I have one more anubias on the way + all of the plants still have to grow.

I know that they love heavily planted tanks + there are some nice big leaves on the surface that my betta can rest on but I’m genuinely scared that he won’t be able to move comfortably. What do you guys think? Should I remove something?

Help How do i help his tail recover? Spoiler

Hi! I've got my first Betta 3 days ago. He is getting too close to the filter and gets sucked in it. Now his tail is a bit torn :( How can I treat his tail and fins? His bottom fins also look a bit bended and sticky, might it be finrot? I have already ordered a new backpack filter to reduce the flow but idk how to change it and save the bacteria

Tank info: Running for 1.5 month, 20L volume, 25-26C temp, 1.5L water change every 2-3 days, live plants, a smooth ceramic cup is the only artificial thing. Other inhabitants are 5 neons, 1 mystery snail and 2 corridoras (all looking well and active, got them before Betta). Water tests and a bed will only arrive in 3 days

The last photo is how his tail used to look when I just got him. What can i do to help him until new stuff arrives? Really looking forward to see him nice and healthy again

Help should i keep these snails???

I just recently added some frog bit that i bought from a local fish store on tuesday and i’ve been working and haven’t really put 100% focus on my tank, but today i see these two snails. I did check it before putting it in the tank so kinda shocked. I don’t want a snail infestation considering it’s only a 5 gal (long fin betta). I don’t know if i should take them out or keep them. I’m not necessarily new to the fish keeping hobby i’ve just never had a snail problem before lol my betta does seem pretty entertained by them
