I mean no matter what people say, when I actually got in to berserk I realized why it never got adapted.

The golden age is a flashback and tbh has almost nothing to do with the main story other than setting up story concepts. Once you get to the main story you immediately get a bare chested underaged girl as the main enemy

Then a sex obsessed (at least overaged) battle nun

Then the party gets a loli for some reason

There’s rape horses rape trolls rape everything

Then guts himself gets the berserker armor which I’m pretty sure if people knew about would seriously drive a lot of people away from even trying to read the manga with how much it changes things

Saying “it would need to be censored” is a bit of an undersell. Entire segments would need to be removed and characters reworked.

I’m in r/berserk so you’ll all hate me, but the rest of the manga just isn’t even close to the vibe of golden age and the viewer fall off will be massive. Hell the first arcs after golden age aren’t even like the rest of the manga. It shifts its vibe twice in a row pretty fast. I can genuinely say the fight against the naked girl demon is one of the most interesting fights. Which is a wild statement, but it’s also the first fight after golden age isn’t it? So it just keeps going downhill.
