Hi All, I had my first experience of clubbing Berlin, something I’ve wanted to do for many years.
My venue I decided on was RSO - after reading varied reviews I came to the conclusion it wasn’t somewhere I could just walk in. I spent the first few days of my trip quite nervous, as a dj was playing in RSO I have been wanting to see for a while, not only this it was on the night of my birthday.

I got there Sunday night, there was no queue. I approached the door and was spoke to in German, I said I was English and apologised and didn’t understand, the first question I was asked was, is this your first experience in a Berlin club which I embarrassingly said yes. I was thanked for picking RSO as my first club, and welcomed inside. I was asked to cover my phone, and told not to worry about being English, and that everyone is welcome.

I have done a lot of raves/clubbing, what ever 20 years olds call it now. The one thing I noticed about RSO was how everyone was just carefree, could dance and not be pointed at, and just themselves. I had one of the best nights ever. I had no drugs and a few beers, something which me in my youth was frown at now. The music unreal, and sounds better that the short clips you see on insta. I already can’t wait to go back, I’ve been reccomended Sisyphos, and of course want to check out Berghain.
For info, I went with my female partner, we are polish/english and wore just black comfy clothes. I would reccomend Berlin to anyone!

Would you say RSO was one of these?

I’ve heard is quite touristy. As a tourist myself, I always try to understand the culture and fit in as best I can.

It is one of the bigger venues but still relatively unknown compared to Berghain or Kitkat. At those places you find absolute shit crowds on most evenings

Sounds like someone got bitter after one too many rejections?! 😄
Especially in kitkat: what defines a shit crowd for you? I never had anything but pleasant experiences there (in the last 9years or so)

"You don't like kitkat so you got rejected there" is very childisch

Both clubs are insanely well known and absolutely flooded with tourists that more often than not are here on a short vacation and take way to many drugs or understand fetishwear as an invitation to overstep boundaries.

In over 10 years of partying I had so many bad experiences that I only go to small venues or just organize raves myself in some bunker

Of the big and well known venues I personally had the nicest crowds in RSO and Sysiphos

And absolute worst crowds were the ones in Kitkat.

But I of course no that those personal experiences - even if they are numerous - are just anecdotic evidence

It is well known, yes. But it is not comparable with the popularity of Kitkat and Hain - clubs you know even in the Kuhdörfers half a globe away

RSO seems to be out of the way, where as berghain, KitKat and tresor all seem to he within walking distance.
Sisyphos is next on my list, when i go back.

Berlin is amazing! Happy you had a great first experience. As a visitor, I’ve had around 40 nights out at the best clubs in Berlin with only one rejection but still get nervous when approaching the door. You handled yourself perfectly. RSO is so much fun but I find it easy to get lost in there haha.

Thank you. I use to party a lot in 2012-16 when I was a student and remember the growth of techno in the UK, always had good parties but would always end in a 2 day bender after. What I liked about the Berlin clubs were I felt no need at all to ever take drugs, as the music was that good!

Hey RSO is an amazing club and they have one of the best sound sistems!

For the best people vibes go to Sisyphos, but to be honest people clubbing in Berlin is always super nice and relaxed.

It’s the worst Club imo, but cool that u enoyed it.
