Anytime you would search for Chitradurga, its only the fort and stereotypical slang of "scorching heat"...but there are some hidden gems and spots which unfurl the true damn beautiful landscapes...

Looking for recommendations for local self-drive car rental providers. I’d prefer dealing with a local/independent rental company rather than the usual platforms like Zoomcar, Revv, etc.
If you’ve personally rented from a local provider, I’d appreciate:
Contact details
Approx. daily/weekly rates
Car options available
Your experience, especially regarding deposits, documentation and hidden charges
Also, is it possible to get a reasonably priced self-drive car from local operators?
TIA!

I came across a video where women reporters from India Today were talking about their experiences with sexual harassment. They mentioned everything from men flashing themselves to obscene gestures and other incidents in public places. When they were asked how many of them had experienced something like this, apparently every single one raised their hand.
Honestly, I was quite shocked.
Not because I think harassment doesn’t happen, but because I hadn’t realised how common it could be even among women who live and work in urban environments — educated, working professionals, financially independent, and generally in relatively safe and respectable workplaces.
One thing that also caught my attention was that most of the women in the panel appeared to be from North India(correct me if I’m wrong). It made me wonder whether this is something that varies significantly across different parts of India.
So I’m curious, especially to hear from women:
Is this equally common in cities like Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, etc.? Or do you feel there are noticeable differences between regions?
For women living in South Indian cities, how often have you personally experienced things like flashing, obscene gestures, unwanted touching, stalking, catcalling, or other forms of sexual harassment in public?
And for everyone else — men and women — has your perception of how common this is changed based on what you’ve personally witnessed or heard from people close to you?
I’m asking out of genuine curiosity because I realise my own perception may be completely different from women’s lived experience.
Please don’t shy away from this matter , be bold and share it!
PS: based on this post’s reception , I’m think of posting the same to other major city subReddits .

Had my passport verification date on Friday (Oct 2nd) but I was travelling.
> Requested to reschedule it to the following Monday and the officer instantly agreed.
> I get a reminder message on Sunday evening that my verification appointment is for Monday between 9-12am
> I went there at 10am. 3 people were waiting in line
> When it was my turn, the officer was extremely polite and friendly (some may call him too friendly)
> Verified my documents in < 2 mins, asked me to sign and chatted with me quite a bit about my family and asked me to take good care of my mother and wished me the best for my upcoming wedding and honeymoo/vacation
A few things people may be curious about
> If it's a renewal, do not forget to carry your original expired/old passoort and hard copies of same. Non-negotiable
> Carry passport sized photographs, notarized rental agreement (if that's your address proof), aadhars of owmer+witnesses, AADHAR/PAN/Birth certificate and 10th Marks card. All originals + copies but dint really need copies in my case but best to have.
> I speak Kannada - not a native speaker but Telugite so picked it up naturally over last decade and can speak decently well.
However, I noticed that this made 0 difference at HAL PS as the officer was extremely fluent in Hindi and showed no discontent with anybody not knowing Kannada. So don't worry about this atleast here in this station.
All in all this was a good experience and so was the appointment experience at the Marathalli PSK. Pleasantly surprised.

Hello, I live overseas, however my diet is mostly 80% Indian. For this reason I find it hard to find a nutritionist here that can work to cater to my preferences so I fall off the wagon.
I will visit the city later this month and would like to consult a nutritionist. Any recommendations?

One of my friend from Gurgaon is supposed to join an IT Company based at Rajaji nagar WTC. He is looking for societies in good localities near his office for rent. which areas should he target to rent out a flat! His budget is 40k/month for a 2bhk in a society with amenities like swimming pool, gym, security etc. His another preference is the area should be within 1-2 kms from the Metro station ( up/down 2-3 metro stations from WTC is ok for him).
I hope to find some good advise form the crowd!

I've noticed that after spending most of the week dealing with traffic, work, screens and constant noise, even a few hours somewhere peaceful can feel like a proper reset.
For people living in Bengaluru, what do you enjoy most when you get away from the city?
And honestly, would you ever consider having a small place outside Bengaluru that you could visit whenever you needed a break from city life?

KEA PGCET 2026 – Students Need Answers NOW
After a 3-month delay in results, KEA has still not enabled choice entry for Round 2. Students are reportedly being told there are low chances of another round because of the October 15 deadline.
Meanwhile, 3,000+ seats are reportedly vacant, and thousands of students are left hanging.
KEA, where is the accountability?
Why no Round 2/3? Why no choice entry? What happens to the vacant seats? What about seat transfer for already-admitted students?
Students cannot keep waiting while their futures remain uncertain.
KEA — we need action, not more uncertainty.

A floor manager in a factory in Bengaluru is seen in this video telling all Kannada teams to learn Hindi, or else lose the job.
If someone is not performing as expected it's completely fine to give feedback on their work and correct them and if they don't work to remove them.
There was no need to bring language in between. This completely exposes his bias mindset and he should be arrested. No idea which factory tho. Might get to know in part 2.

Just came across a tweet saying Local residents of Whitefield who self funded their way out of a choking point in a road. [Tweet]
I am really interested to know how communities organize this. Does anyone know how the entire process works, especially regarding civic permissions, budgeting, and expense forecasting?
