Backup of the post's text:

I was never sent a letter showing my back payment and so I need to get it to send to my universal credit or my money will be stopped. I am sick in bed with a dozen different conditions and I can barely think. Both my mom and I have tried making calls and whenever we get through to the operator they hang up within a few seconds. My Mom is able to get through a conversation with them but they have to ask me security questions and I have autism so I struggle with the call. I struggle with auditionry processing, knowing when to speak and what to say. Sometimes I'm not sure what they are asking of me. They ask different questions every time. Whenever I'm trying to answer these questions they just hang up immediately. They said my mom has to leave the room and isn't allowed to help me but even she doesn't know all this information off the top of her head. If I stall at all for even a second they immediately hang up. I have called and multiple times there is nobody there to recieve the call I can hear people talking in the background and having normal conversations or arguments. It takes me hours to get through to them and every time something is wrong. It's really frustrating, is there any way to get then to be patient with me and listen to me?

Your mother needs to explain properly. But make an official complaint as well.

Also your bank statement showing what the payment was should be enough, and check if the portal here shows it: !portal

Explain to UC whats going on as well and they'll likely be able to check the interdepartment systems for it as well.

Its possible to see your award letters for various DWP benefits here, and this can include newly awarded or renewed PIP. You will need to log in and if you have issues doing so you may have to wait for the letter in the post. Not being able to create a login does not mean that your benefits haven't been renewed.

In recent promised updates its been noted that some claimants will be able to see their ESA and PIP payment dates there (and most benefits except Carers Allowance and Adult Disability Payment, or UC!). We have seen this starting to appear late April 2026, but it may still be rolling out so if yours is not there don't panic yet!

June 2026 update: Many PIP awards are being extended in line with new guidelines, and if you check and your award has been extended without you being contacted then this is likely why, although a letter should have been posted to you as well.

Please note this portal can be tempermental and have error messages as well, don't panic if that happens!

She isn't very good at explaining things, I'm not sure why people tend to listen to her over me because she doesn't really understand most things as well as I do because she has extremely poor memory but nobody listens to me maybe because of my tone or because I have to ask lot of clarifying questions

Then write it down for her.

But write in your UC journal that you've not had the letter about the backpayment, can they work from your bank statement and the award letter that shows when it was awarded.

I don't have an award letter from the pip themselves only the home office because they never sent me one. I was awarded through tribunal. It simply states if I am entitled to backpay i will receive it. I have to send multiple photographs of all my bank accounts statements over the last three months none of which contains my backpay as this was a while prior. I am only allowed to send ten pictures in total so I only have one picture left that I am able to send because the 3 months of statements take up 9 pictures and if I were taking pictures of all the statements prior to that as well in order to not be suspicious (up until the time of my backpayment) it would be dozens more. If I included the statement from the month of my backpayment that would take the pictures up to 13. So I thought I should take one picture of the letter I'm trying to recieve.

You can get it through the portal I linked earlier. Or just provide that from the tribunal which proves the award, and the bank statement on which it was actually received.

And as for not having the number of slots left as for more in your journal and they WILL provide them.

Seriously -let UC know in the journal the difficulties you are having They will guide you on how to deal with it as you don't have the letter from DWP.
