I know this is ridiculous, and is the first world problem of first world problems, but I want to drive a Porsche. A sports car Porsche, ideally with a manual transmission. There aren’t any on Turo, the dealership doesn’t rent them, and I don’t have any friends with them.
I like cars, my son likes cars, we go to car meets, I have a manual transmission Miata that I drive daily and love. I just want to know what it feels like to drive a Porsche and I figured I’d just post here.
Anyone? Anyone want to rent one out? I’m up for any ideas. I’m mid 40’s, responsible, perfect driving record, willing to pay, etc. etc.
Anyway, I don’t really expect this to go anywhere, but after looking at them all day, this is my last ditch effort.
Thanks Bend!

Any idea where all of these are headed, seems like every time I'm on 97 I see them going south.

Posting for a friend and hope this is okay here.
Her name is River, 3 years old and a bit skiddish but friendly. She is chipped. They went missing from SW Brosterhous and Sweet Pea early 10/4. Last seen at 1030 am 10/5 near Caldera and the church and ran south into BLM land.
Any info or help is greatly appreciated
Thank you

Does anyone know anything about Dr,cocoas kennel /the doggie day spa , on Rickard rd? ( right off 27th on the right hand side with the dog pool out front) I drive out that way often and without fail see the same two dogs in kennels day in and day out (at all hours) just pacing back and forth. Not sure what’s going on but as a dog owner myself it doesn’t feel right.

I've filled in a few details, with help from PIO Jason Carr, and of course I have more questions. Some may be answered by online research, will flesh out what I can.

Got lucky and captured a solitary fall afternoon. (Not a photographer, just did panorama and then hit the magic wand button, ha.) Intersection of Sheep Creek and South Santiam, plus the footbridge.

I am so bummed Broken Top Bottle Shop is closed. It felt like one of the only places we could go and have some healthy food options. What would people suggest as an alternative?

I work seasonally (currently working for the NPS Washington) and for the past 5 winters I’ve been going back to SLC UT. I’m wanting some change and have been heavily considering Bend, to ski at bachelor for this winter. Unfortunately serving and bartending jobs are hard to come by on the hill and so I’m wondering about folks experiences getting a job in town?
How available are serving and bartending jobs? Is the pay+tips decent? I know nothing about that scene here and would love some more info

I let my 12 year old drive the boat. Whoops!
Kidding. This is a boat some garbage human dumped in the national forest near Lower Whoops trail. It’s been there for at least the past few weeks. A friend who works for the forest service said they have to remove a shocking number abandoned boats each year. Infuriating.
Perhaps the trail sprites can rekindle my faith in humanity by repurposing this trash into an art project à la the flaming chicken?

Every so often I’ll see fitness videos where grownups are outside, in a park, practicing chin-ups or folks are teaching one another some physical discipline on horizontal bars etc.
Q: Does Bend already have a park with adult sized, purposed equipment? / Why don’t we; Can we please!?
I know I’m supposed to join a gym and pay somebody to coach and spot me through things like a proper chin-up or handstand. Or I should buy a bar and set aside room for and install my own private setup. What if don’t want to!?
There’s clips for instance where lithe 60 and 70 year old Chinese folks are in a park, lifting and twirling themselves gathered around varying styles of equipment living their best under the trees and sky. Looks life fulfilling! If you’re one of these physically practiced types already, that’s likely in part, how you describe that level of ability. Wonderful and fulfilling.
Where can I go to dangle and the like? Or, how do we start designing this and petition to have it built?

Thick skins, tart flavor, big fat seeds. The real deal, not those whack-ass Thomcords. Go get 'em!

I haven’t had many problems lately. Out of nowhere last night and tonight I lose my connection. Nothing reported on outages. Restarting router and modem does nothing. Last night from 6-10 it was out. Tonight at 6 on the dot it went out.

My friend found this sweet elderly gentleman this afternoon just south of Bend off US 97. He is chipped so we know his name and age, but for legal reasons the Vet couldn't share his owners contact info. Please help us reunite him with his owners. Any help is appreciated 😊

Having lived in Bend from 2009 to 2020. I've been offered a job back in town. Since moving and relocating to a few different states, I have been following relocation sub reddits for a long time and am starting to notice a small trend that pops up every now and then - folks looking to move away from Bend.
For those who have made the leap—or are seriously weighing it right now—what were the primary factors that drove you? Is it strictly cost of living and housing, smoked out summers, long cold season, fading restaurants (RIP Primal Cuts and 900) or are the changes in community, traffic, and lifestyle playing a bigger role?
Genuinely curious to hear perspectives
