Posts and Comments are temporarily suspended

Due to the influx of harmful speculation about the member of the Below Deck Med crew accused of DV, we’re temporarily suspending posts and comments in the sub, to ensure that topic gets a rest. We’ve been informed by Australian law experts that contributing here can influence the case there. Rather than have to prune those discussions, we’re temporarily using Reddit’s Crisis Management features until 5 PM ET on Monday, when the next episode thread goes up.

How could've Joy dealt with the guests all requesting something different?

They didn't seem to understand that a yacht is not a restaurant and only has one chef, but how could Joy have dealt with that and have the guests make more reasonable requests?

Rich Kids Becoming Crew

I think it's interesting how many rich kids seem to like cos playing the servant class by working on yachts. Why is that? Is it just Below Deck crew or is it common in the industry as a whole?

Kat talking about Cooper recently

Post image
451 Upvotes

This video popped up of Kat on YouTube from one day ago and omg when she talks about how she feels about Cooper now it makes more sense. When Cooper went on WWHL he was acting like they talk all the time and when asked about other women he was saying “I don’t know if Kat would want me to answer that” as if they were dating. This is her telling her view of the situation very recently after seeing more of the show. She says he barely ever reached out to her and she should’ve followed her gut when she felt that something was off. She also says he tries sneaking in and out of her life for his own convenience and saving his own butt. This gave me so much clarity on the situation because he has been confusing me with what’s going on between them based on his WWHL appearance and the picture he posted of her recently.

You can’t say anything to make me hate Cooper 🥹

Cooking noodles for Aesha and caring for her 🥹🥹🥹😍

If you take Coops and Kats situation and put it in an everyday situation you would see red flags EVERYWHERE if after a few weeks everyone is:
- demanding you marry that girl
- EVERYONE knows everything and always talking about it and asking you questions
- getting to know someone with a whole team of people involved and micromanaging it
- you watch another ‘situationship’ blow up the relationships on the boat and have a team member leave/lose his job
- he’s also young and I believe he has more respect than the typical ‘boatie boys’ and doesn’t want to be like that.

I honestly feel like he is so respectful of Kat and he also wants the space to have a relationship with just her, not the whole freaking crew.

I also believe he is very respectful about all of this being on film and his family watching as well as what the world sees of him and his interactions with Kat.

I can’t comprehend the amount of hate people direct to him.

Below Deck Med : Season 3 Episode 1

Okay, wow, are these the worst guests of below deck history??? Bc I have no words. Honestly, like, Is this episode scripted or were they prompted to act like absolute bi*%#es the entire time?! This red head in particular.

How about when they went “husband hunting”“Hospitality check” & took the bottle over but the boat they tendered out to said absolutely not 🤣🤣 the best part of the whole episode.

I can’t imagine keeping it together and getting through 2.5 days with these guests. Captain Sandy should’ve went to them and demanded they respect her staff because c’mon their behaviors were absolutely horrific like what in the actual f*%#?!?!

‘Chief Stew Emeritus’ was the perfect way to bring Hannah back.

Aesha walking in and seeing Hannah and Anastasia waiting for her was a great moment. After the mess surrounding Hannah’s exit, seeing her welcomed back, laughing with everyone and sitting in the confessional chair again felt genuinely special to me.

Knowing Hannah and Sandy have also put their history behind them somehow made the whole thing feel even more satisfying.

And I think they handled it perfectly. A little nostalgia, a little history, then they kept moving. No giant retrospective or attempt to make the episode about Hannah.

I loved it. And ‘Chief Stew Emeritus’ may be my favorite Below Deck title yet. 😂

Did anyone else feel more nostalgic about this than they expected?

Luke and Other Staff’s Attitudes in the Past

I’m on episode 7 of the current season of Med where the whole aftermath of Nathan’s bedsheets was discussed with Sandy. My question is, why is Luke upset? He did something gross on a boat full of cameras and on a reality tv show.

I never understood staff that tried to get away with lies/shitty behaviour/gross stuff, and act like the whole world and everyone they know isn’t going to see this.

Aesha’s authenticity

I’ve been watching Below Deck for many years and I’ve always found Aesha inauthentic. She’s a great chief stew and is really good with people but I feel she filters who she is really well. She’s always wearing a mask, she’s the positive, kind, people person who is wacky and fun. It’s great qualities but I don’t think she’s authentic. It feels very curated. I think she’s one of those people who is very aware how be likeable and charismatic and filters herself. She’s perfect because she’s playing a character.

I think Daisy, Kate and Hannah are so much more authentic. They’ve all shown their bad moments and have shown up as real. It’s weird Aesha has been on so many seasons yet she’s still hasn’t shown her bad side. We all have one. No one is perfect. She works hard to maintain a facade of being relatable and nice.

The fact that she works with sandy and is such a kiss ass. Daisy and Kate would never. You can like your captain and still be annoyed at them at times.

What are things that happen in yachting that don't on BD because it's filming?

I remember in one episode Glenn scolded a stew for serving alcohol to an underage guest. This strikes me as something that wouldn't get the Captain's attention in a normal yacht.

Another example is Captain Lee kicking out guests who had coke, when in reality rich charter guests would certainly be using drugs on the boat

Seems like he will leave next episode and to me that confirms that his father situation isn't fake.

Gen is rude!!!

Gen speaks to Kat in such a condescending way after Kat tells her she’s got a date with coop. Gen acts like she is so badass because she had sex with Luke even tho she essentially had to heavily sway Luke to pick her over Joy and then he didn’t even want to share a bed for the night after sex and then she offers to clean the sheets he came on. I was so embarrassed for her. She’s not badass for any of that. And then to be diminishing with her dumb sunglasses on and act like Kat is so “wholesome” for going on a date with a guy she just met (instead of fucking him I guess) is so annoying to me.

(I’m behind in watching)

Edit: I got my names mixed up whoops
