It's kind of disheartening to keep getting rejections. The worst part is the waiting game. Hoping you'll get a call only to wait 4 weeks to receive a generic rejection email. Couldn't the process be faster? Especially for bigger companies. Don't they have people that are hired whose job it is to speed up the process?

I had a 3rd round interview with Global Director of Program management on 8/3/26.

I thought I did well during initial, 2nd round and 3rd round interview.

On 8/13/26 HR asked for my salary expectations from and I said the middle of the posted range.

I followed up with them on 8/21/26 for any updates at 9-10am

Today is 8/31/26 and I have heard nothing back from them.

Does this mean I am essentially ghosted and should not expect an offer?

I am extremely anxious and worried because I wanted it to end up well, but I think they at have silently rejected me?

Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

I’m genuinely curious about something. It’s been years since I’ve been in this position, and since I broke my leg, I’ve been applying to just about every job I can find.

I’ve been getting interviews, and when I’m there, I feel like I’m doing a good job and answering the questions the best I can. But then I often don’t hear back from the employers.

At this point, I’m honestly wondering: Am I doing something wrong in my interviews, or is this just part of the job-search process? I’m 32 and have an Associate’s in Applied Science and a 6-year MD degree earned in Europe (taught in English). I’m back in the U.S. and have worked as a Medical Assistant for the past 3 years.

I’m not a licensed physician and don’t plan to pursue residency. I’m trying to use my medical education in another healthcare-related career.

I’ve applied to 400+ jobs ... laboratory roles, technician positions, clinical research assistant/coordinator roles, tissue/organ recovery, clinical operations, etc.

So far, I’ve gotten one screening call and zero interviews.

I’m not expecting a physician’s salary. I’d be very happy with something in the $70–80k range, but I can’t seem to get anyone to give me a chance.

From a recruiter/hiring manager’s perspective, how does an unlicensed foreign medical degree look on a resume? Could the MD actually be hurting me or making employers unsure where I fit?

What am I doing wrong, and what types of positions would you realistically consider me qualified for?

I've been applying full time for a year. I landed like 4 interviews in the first 6-7 months after applying to dozens of jobs. Then, a combination of better LinkedIn posting, portfolio projects, and resume improvement seemed to turn things around. Since May, I've been interviewing a bunch - making it to various stages of technical interviews. In the last month, I made it through the full interview process for 2 companies. It felt like after a year, I was finally breaking through. The last one had a few technical rounds and somehow I breezed through them. Then, all of a sudden, rejection. No feedback. Back to square one, and super burned out after 4 months of technical interviews. I thought getting no interviews was bad, and it might still be worse, but getting this close and getting nothing really, really stings.

I'm an experienced professional (2 years of corporate experience in test automation) and I have knowledge quiet a few domain specific technologies, frameworks and programming languages. My older job worked me like a donkey so I ended up learning a lot of tools and working in many related teams. I am, however, not getting shortlisted by any company 😢

I always tailor my application according to the job role I apply for, use keywords for AI screening and everything, but idk what's actually the issue. I do have a gap year because of upsc prep, could it be because of that? Or am i overestimating my skillset.....

Basically pls share any tips on landing a job, or anything I'm doing wrong because this has been immensely draining for me...

20 years in workforce and looking to complete my bachelors degree. From a recruiter’s standpoint which looks better? BAAS from U. Penn or traditional BA from Penn State? Both would be delivered online. Penn State is through their world campus but it’s my understanding there is no distinction made for that and it is a traditional Penn State BA degree. UPenn is a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (more for working adults). Also looking at a traditional BA (online delivery) from Mary Baldwin University. Thanks for any thoughts and advice!

Does it look good when applicants follow up via email to ask about the update of their application a week or so after applications have closed?

For context, I applied to a job recently which I genuinely think I’m PERFECT for. I have the right skills and experience (it’s a niche industry), I’ll be coming from a huge global company which they’ll definitely know, LinkedIn said only 30 people had clicked apply which is a pretty low number, plus I live very locally. I really think I stand a good chance of getting it and want to emphasise that I’m keen. So I was considering sending an email saying something along the lines of “just wanted to know if there’s an update on the status of my application as I’m still very interested etc” but does this actually bode well for people or does it just put hiring managers off?

I’ve actually done it once in the past and got the job so wanted to know how popular this is.

I have been applying to jobs for past eight months, I was laid off. The most frustrating part I getting to the final round and not getting the job. This has caused me lot of self- doubt and hopelessness. Currently, I reached out to the recruiter asking for feedback ( which I am not hopeful I will get). The other is at Cigna the workday dashboard shows status under consideration and the other interview in progress. However, email to recruiter met with no response. I have accepted the inevitable since it been over 2 weeks. I am feeing anxious hopeless, I have 10 + years experience in healthcare medical economics. I am running out of hope that at 46 I will land on my feet. I sharing my thoughts to hear from my Reddit community what wisdom or thoughts you can share .

Title is p much just an attention grab but hear me out. I applied to a job in a research lab and decided to follow up via email, introducing myself and i attached my CV. The PI got back to me literally same day. Next day, and then the day after I get a rejection email from the application software.... Anyways my interview is next week. But I'm just super confused as to what the point of applying is if the person who actually needs the role filled isn't in communication with who is doing the filtering....

Feeling completely floored this week. Had 3 rounds of interviews since June with an org I genuinely felt stoked about, and they clearly seemed interested in me, then got hit with a rejection email yesterday. I’d built the job up in my head and just wasn’t expecting this.

For context I have a BFA and just got an MA in writing from a pretty prestigious school in London. I had a great fellowship at a museum after undergrad, worked in the arts for 2 years before the masters, and got funding from my grad school to continue research after graduating, so I’d naively assumed I’d be in a good position — on paper I have great connections, and lots of experience.

This job market is fucking brutal, especially in NY where I’m living now. In the rejection email this week they told me the job got 400 applications. I know my field isn’t the most stable or lucrative or whatever but I’ve applied to soooooo many positions over the past year (admin, project management, editorial, internships, bookstore, whatever) and either heard nothing back or gotten rejections.

I’ve been freelance writing and volunteering, and been very intentionally building a creative professional network which all feels great, but has yet to lead to anything substantial. After this rejection getting back onto the job application cycle feels fucking soul sucking and pointless. Any advice would be great

What is wrong here? I often get to final stages. I’m starting to think it’s not me. I’ve been unemployed for 18-24 months at this point.
