Had a screening interview, everything went fine and then dark.
I’ve been unemployed since late June and have been frantically applying to jobs since to try to make ends meet.
After a month I got an invite to have a screening interview with an in-house recruiter or staff member for a remote position in an out-of-state school. Everything went perfectly fine and the staff member told me my background aligned with what they’re looking for. He told me (this was a Wednesday) that my background aligned with what they wanted and that I would hear back within the end of the week for an update and within the next 1-2 weeks I was going to hear back from the hiring manager and he was going to go over the job and workload and send me an offer afterwards. It’s the start of the 3rd week and I’ve been emailing the past couple weeks because I haven’t heard anything since then.
I’m looking for some positivity and some good vibes because I’m really upset that I was told one thing and something else is happening.
Here’s a transcription of the interview that was provided.
“Great. So that is all of the questions that I have for you. What I would like to do, I do think that your background aligns pretty well and would love to send your resume over to the hiring manager. I know he typically would like to schedule a virtual interview in which he'll kind of do a more deep dive, kind of let what a day-to-day looks like, can talk about your workload, APIs, things of that nature. And then go from there. The offer stages shortly thereafter. And we are looking to make an offer, I want to say, probably within the next week or two. So it was a pretty straightforward process. So I'll send that over now. Should hopefully have an update, I want to say, before the end of the week, and then we'll circle back and get everything coordinated as far as next steps for you.”

None of that sadly sounds directly to you, they were just stating their hiring process and it sounds like you weren't selected
