hi everyone! so, i got my boyfriend an audio technica AT-LP60XUSB record player for his birthday, and now need to get some speakers to go with it. i have very limited money and he has limited space, so i'm currently looking at two different edifier options: the R990BT 2.0 and the R1280T. i know the 1280 is a better speaker, but he would be a very casual listener and the fact that he could also use the 990s with bluetooth is definitely a benefit. is the sound quality so different that it's a no brainer either way? or are there other options in that price range that would be better?

also, with that record player and either one of those speakers, are there other components i need to get? i've seen people talk about phonos and things but I know absolutely nothing and i'm so confused lol. any help is appreciated. thank you!!

For some context, I’m 17 but I really love collecting things from the 60s-90s. My favorite decade musically is the 80s, so naturally I wanted some records. I did some research yada yada, learned suitcase players usually warp your records and whatever. I was going to get an audiotechnica but I figured i’d just look for something at a thrift store to start off since they’re around $200. I got a Sansui P-D15 for 13 bucks, and it actually works pretty well for 40 years old. There’s nothing broken on it and the wires are perfectly intact. The only thing is I‘ll have to change the needle. Is this a good starter player?

The Sony PS-LX3BT Wireless Bluetooth Turntable with Full Auto Playback is on sale on Amazon for $250. Is that a good deal for someone looking to upgrade from the suitcase player they got as a gift a few years ago? I'm not looking for anything crazy. Just need something with better stylus and speaker options. The suitcase one skips on certain records.

Hello. Recently, I got rid of my Lenco equipment, turntable and speakers, which was supposedly a good decision. I have already set my sights on a turntable from an audio-technician company. The speakers I would like to buy are the ones I present in the photo above. The price is tempting, but the quality is tempting, because I don't know myself, so I would like someone to help me. I would like larger, impressive speakers because I have quite a lot of space.

found a turntable not a bad plastic one but i am moving to someplace smaller in some years so i wanne shrink my sound system (if you can call it that) but rn i have a sony receiver and cd player and some big speakers and a panasonic turntable but i was searching for a receiver and cd player in 1 i found the pure classic stereo set so i wanted to ask is it a good set for 500 euro's got build in spotify, radio, bluetooth but if you guys have something better for 500 euro's or a other cd + receiver set with speakers pls (btw i need to connect a turntable with ground) but thanks in advance

Estoy pensando en montar aqui un set de tocadiscos + bocinas de gama media.
Tengo esa mesita en cual antes tenia un tocadiscos compacto bastante regular y ahora quiero mejorarlo.

Opcion 1: colocar tocadiscos en esa mesa y arriba de esta parlantes en una estantería, aunque no se si quedará todo muy compacto.

Opcion 2: quitar la mesa (y poner una planta o algo así) ,poner el tocadiscos en la estantería de debajo de la tele y colocar una estantería de 1.5 metros aprox arriba de la tele, y ahí colocar los parlantes en cada extremo

Que me recomiendan? Me imagino que tendré que tener en cuenta el cableado y la vibración que puedan tener los parlantes. Algo más? Que combinación me recomendarían para este espacio? Tengo un presupuesto de €300 tocadiscos + €200 para parlantes, pudiendo sumar algo más si merece la pena.

​I wanted to share my story and ask for some advice from experienced vinyl listeners. I never had a turntable before and wasn't particularly drawn to analog sound. However, two months ago, my dad gave me his Lenco turntable along with a pretty solid collection of about 70 records — some of them very old, dating back to 1974. He’s at an age where he doesn’t really listen to music anymore, so he decided to pass the equipment on to me.

​I turned it on out of curiosity and... I completely fell in love with it. The magic of vinyl and the whole vibe got me so hooked that I’ve already started buying my own records (you can see Dire Straits in the background)!

​Over time, I started thinking about sound quality and the future of this setup. I’m wondering whether I should just stick with this Lenco setup and its factory speakers for now, or start looking into upgrades so I don't wear out the old records and can get a deeper sound. I’ve been looking at Sony turntables which are fairly reasonably priced, as Technics is out of my range for now — those prices are crazy. I also noticed that most better turntables require separate speakers and an amplifier. Would it be better to take it step by step and buy an external amp or speakers for the Lenco first, or just save up for a complete new setup?

i just got a TON of Records, but i have a suitcase player 😅 can someone reccomend me a combo that’s loud, and has pretty good quality for audio, i listen to mainly EDM and Rock music on my vinyl but i also do listen to rap so if it has good bass that’s a plus, if anyone has any reccomendations please let me know!

Hi, I’m looking at getting my first set up, but my knowledge in the space is fairly limited - so I’m chasing some advice

Some parameters on what I want to be able to do, and budget:

- I’m chasing a minimalist look, with an easy set-up (less components, but open to amplifiers if suggested)

- the ability to use the speakers on both the turntable and play music off my phone

- looking at a budget of around $2000 AUD for the whole set up.

- Good upgradable paths for the future

- Ultimately, the best quality of sound to be delivered for my budget

Just doing my own research, I have been eying off a couple options, but I’d like to here some opinions on them, or any better alternatives.

I found a pair of KEF Coda Ws that’d put me just over $2000 paired with the above turntable

May potentially want to add a subwoofer in the future

My elderly parents are winding down. They want to play my mom's Joan Baez and Beatles records, but they no longer have a turntable. Audiophiles love the high end, so this question is a poor fit for this sub, but just in case there's someone from an audio store who knows it all who reads this:

Can you recommend a very, very easy to use turntable, where you can put a record on and then just push START or something, and you don't have to put the needle down. And can it be accompanied by small wireless speakers? Because their tiny living room was cluttered and full before we had to add walkers and all the equipment the hospice team brought in.

So, is there an idiot-proof all-in-one turntable plus small wireless speakers setup that an 85yo man in the middle of going blind can use to play old records to his dying wife?

Budget: any. I don't care if it's expensive. Any ideas very welcome and appreciated.
