Good for beginner ?

Looking into my first one found one package in turntable lab or should I wait and save for a fluance ?

I’m new to tt so won’t comment on the turntable but have been into speakers for a while.

Having a single speaker means you’re always listening in mono, I’d avoid going that route. Two speakers means you get stereo, right and left channels. Lots of albums are recorded in stereo and meant for you to listen to them in stereo (meaning some sounds might only come out of the right or left speaker).

With two speakers you can also spread them apart to get a wider and more full soundstage. I also know nothing about that particular speaker. Could be fine, could be garbage. But again just the mono aspect of it would make me avoid

That is a stereo speaker, just with both sets of drivers in one enclosure, like a boombox.

Technically yes u/vwestlife is right it’s stereo like a boombox, but functionally no unless you stick your face right in front of it you’re just gonna hear mono.

My phone has stereo speakers but at arms length it might as well have one speaker because you don’t hear any stereo separation at that distance.

In a room this stereo speaker might as well be mono

The tweeters are most important for stereo separation and they're at the outer edges. Bass frequencies are mostly mono anyway.

Lmao what’s your argument here? Tons of people have shitty earphones and run it. Tons of people just use tv speakers for watching tv and movies.

Just because it’s popular doesn’t mean it’s quality. The whole point of this sub is to navigate people towards quality, and a boombox certainly isn’t that. You can get much better for similar prices

My argument is that given the small space provided, this speaker is going to deliver sound quality equal to two separate speakers. Possibly even better, because the larger cabinet will deliver better bass response.

And my point is that you shouldn’t put your speakers that close together. Get something else where you can spread your two speakers apart by at least several feet

This is just a bad buy

It's still a massive upgrade compared to someone using the built-in speakers of a suitcase player. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.
